    Mauricio Pochettino - Sacked

Have to agree our club is a joke. The one key point though is we don't have a manager. We have a head coach. We don't have anyone in overall command. I don't know who to blame, because I don't know who's made some of the poor decisions. The problems of recent seasons have largely arisen...

Do you want QPR to get relegated?

Sandro was awesome yesterday. I wish I could work out why Paulinho is still at Spurs but Sandro isn't. We have made some mighty strange transfers in the last couple of seasons.

Yep, that just about sums it up.

    Hugo Lloris

He has improved since he joined us. Last night he came for crosses and caught the ball. 12 months ago he would have punched those away and not very convincingly. He was often bullied in the box. Now he commands his area and has far more of a presence.

    League Cup or NLD?

Second string 11 tonight, but pile the bench with quality. I don't expect Forrest to field a strong side, so shouldn't be too big a challenge. Just need to get through to next round. I hope Poch has defensive plan in mind for Saturday, as long as we nullify their pace in attack, we can exploit...

OMT *** Tottenham Hotspur vs. Nottingham Forrest ***

Forrest will only have eyes on the league this season, I wouldn't except to see a strong side for them tonight. We don't look strong enough to challenge for a CL place so this and the FA Cup look our best chance at silverware. The dilemma is a NLD transcends all other priorities.

    Mauricio Pochettino - Sacked

Should we be winning this at a canter? West Brom are a well organised and dangerous team. One you need to prepare for carefully. We obviously didn't. Poch is on a steep learning curve.

Carlyle takeover, was Cain Hoy takeover

Re: Back Page tomorrow Mirror - Lewis to sell 1 Billion Tottenham Given the efforts we've gone to in recent years to build our profile in the US, I wonder if we've nurtured their interest for some time.

    Captain Next Season?

I don't see any obvious choices. I don't like keepers as captains, especially in a high pressing side where the keeper is isolated for periods of the game.

With the huge number of games we have to play this season, everyone will play. I'm a lot less confident of us challenging in the EL with Sandro gone.

    Characters

I'm not sure about characters, but we do need leaders. Right now I don't see many in our squad. I hope someone becomes that midfield general we need. Right now we look very lightweight. Too many of our players go missing in big games. Poch has shortened the time he has to get things right by...

Benjamin Stambouli - Sold to PSG

Difficult to comment, as I've never heard of him. Fingers crossed this turns out to be a master stroke by our scouts. Hope he's able to make the step up.

    Sandro - Beast

There goes our backbone! Worse still we've sold him for a lot less than he's worth. Gutted.

***OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool Sunday 31st August 1330 KO***

I quite like the signings they've made, I can see a lot of sense in what he's done. It's not going to click straight away though, so good for this fixture to come now. I don't think Liverpool will be fighting for the title this season, the extra games in Europe will take their toll, but they...

    Tom Carroll

Just like Caulker he's very likey to opt to leave in favour of a club interested in playing him. Other than the run of EL games Harry gave him, we've shown very little interest in him.

    Paulinho

Re: Official MKII- Paulinho At the World Cup we saw the same Paulinho that we did in the Confederations cup the year before. And the same bang average player we had all last season. Let's face it we bought a lemon. Cut our losses and get rid.

    Tom Carroll

Sad to see him go, think he's got a lot to give. Good club to go to, he'll fit in well and perform in a good passing side. Probably won't want to come back.

    Nabil Bentaleb

Re: Official Nabil Bentaleb Thread If the emphasise of Bentaleb's passing goes from keeping possession to feeding the attackers, he'll progress from a good player to a great one. If he gets his head up, spots the run and delivers on a consistent basis we'll have a very special player on our...

I liked Erik Lamela before it was cool

Re: Official - Lamela So if he shows nothing against QPR, do you continue to 'play him into form' against Liverpool?

The Match of the Day Thread

Maybe because he's the big money signing who's constantly talked up, but to date has shown nothing of any consequence. We bought 7 players last season and so far 6 of them have failed to break through. We all agree they need to improve? So why shouldn't a pundit point out where a player is...
