My guess is that Starmer has seen Rayner's balls up as an opportunity to get rid of the last of the "lefty" types and install more of his wet lettuce centrist types in a bid to prop up his own position in the party.

Israel is difficult. There is an argument as I've said that Israel has had to live with aggression from Gaza for years, that rockets are constantly fired from Gaza at Israeli cities and they don't do much as Israel has constructed the most ridiculous air defence system in the world. All this...

Ok but if you drive millions of unviable (I.e. loss making) rental properties into the public sector, who is going to pay for that?

Yeah international relations and trade probably the only area where you could look and say the government are doing a competent and times impressive job! What message does that send?

Rent isn't about the value of the property though as the value of the property is ultimately what people are willing to pay for it or how much a bank values it as security for a loan. Lots of rental properties are in areas that are less desirable and so values are depressed but the maintenance...

So Rachel Reeves has stated that "serious economists" do not believe that the UK is heading for an IMF bailout. This is a reference to economists writing in The Telegraph that increasing national debt caused by excessive public spending, particularly on welfare and increasing debt yields may...

She has resigned as deputy leader of the Labour Party as well and as housing minister. The role of housing minister was not a nothing role, she was in charge of delivering one of Labour's key pledges and of a huge budget.

We may look for a loan in January depending on how things pan out and who we bring in. If we revisit the Savinho/Lookman type situations for example.

It will come. I have seen more and more lads at grass roots level like GB said. Still probably not enough in terms of being representative of the total population but its growing. I think it will take a trailblazer for kids to aspire to. And then you'll see more and more coming through. You...

I came off social media a while ago. Best thing I ever did for my mental health. Only takes about an hour of looking through X, FB, TT and Insta for you to start thinking that human kind needs a good old mass extinction event!

Not overlooking them, no. I said he was intelligent, successful and got a lot of things right in his life. Not that he was a good man that hadn't made mistakes.

It is a good story, it is a bit odd that there aren't more English muslims that come into pro-football. Partly i guess many are of south asian background and cricket is a competing priority. I thought Hamza Choudary looked promising early on in his career and he played for England u21s but he...

Well a few people on here have mentioned having high hopes for Polanski - the bar is low!

I mean the fact that the new great hope of this forum is a guy who was previous mainly known for offering hypnotherapy to increase women's breast sizes is all you need to know!

That's kind of my point. We end up with MPs that are MPs because its the only way on GHod's green earth they'd get a job paying £80k a year but then again the people you'd really want to be MPs wouldn't touch all the hassle, stress and public scrutiny for that wage as they can get a lot more...

It is crap when you consider you're in charge of the whole country. The CEO of a large private company will be getting £millions

Our politicians are paid like cr*p for the responsibility and stress. So nobody other than an incompetent narcissist wants to do it. E.g. Boris Johnson had to take a huge pay cut to become PM. He did it as he had dreamed of being "world king" since being a kid or whatever his sister said.

I've just realised what you're on about. Yes i said 65-70% of households owned their home with a mortgage. The second bit of that is incorrect, more like 30-35% as you said
