    James Maddison

Thought he looked much more threatening in a few minutes than any of our starters did in the whole match.

    Rodrigo Bentancur

So disappointed in him today. A real chance to show his quality and dominate the game. But for 80 of the 90 minutes he was just… meh.

    Djed Spence

Does seem odd that he’s not in EL squad and didn’t start today. His attitude and ability both looked very good. (Whereas Forster looked brick).

Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

Weird that one of our big issues is looking slow and toothless in attack. Not what you’d expect from Ange’s professed style. No idea what’s causing it. Taking one small example from today - Bentancur played some fantastic aggressive passes early on, then did sweet FA for 80 mins (until the...

OMT: Might Spurs v Coventry Wednesday 18 September, kick-off 8pm

Yeah today’s made that decision seem even more bizarre than it already looked on paper.

Agreed. Always seems to do better as a sub for some reason. Don’t know whether it’s just a freshness thing, or something mental too.

Great post. Personally these days I just try and enjoy watching our games, rather than desperately hoping for a level of success that we’re very unlikely to have given our competitors’ financial advantage.

Trouble is neither goals today were from counters. One was after an opponent free kick, and one was when we tried to press them high.

I do think with Richy or Solanke we would have got a result today. Quite a few dangerous crosses, but no proper no.9.

Romero again, ffs. What is wrong with him.

Bold sub. Good be genius, could backfire…

Another goal that Romero was at fault for IMO. Frustrating.

    Brennan Johnson

I’m hoping Odobert was bought to compete with him on the right, and that he has the quality to be an upgrade on Johnson this season.

*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Everton FC ***

Really surprised he’s playing Son as striker instead of Richarlison. Maybe Richy’s not fit enough yet.

    Son Heung-Min

I do worry that with his electric pace seemingly diminished, he will be a much lesser player than he was :( he never had particularly good skill, touch, passing etc

    Lucas Bergvall

What a cameo tonight. One brainfart aside, looked excellent.

    Rodrigo Bentancur

Thought he looked really good in the no. 6 role before his injury, as well.

Still, carrying 8 senior players for 3 positions would be too much for me. As per my post above, I wouldn’t want our youngsters’ development to be stifled through lack of gametime.

I guess so, just feels like we’d end up with too many bodies there. Unless we’d sell Biss or Bentancur. I just don’t want to see Sarr / Gray / Bergvall getting really limited gametime - they need to play to develop.

    The transfer thread

I don’t get the need for another CM - we already have 6, or 7 if you include Kulu (which I think we should, given that we’ve just bought Odobert who will surely cover the right, given we’ve already extended Werner for the left).
