I think the press jumped the gun possibly because the deal was supposedly the whole release fee agreement. So until Arsenal actually pay it then the "agreement" doesn't amount to anything.

Rice, Merino, potentially Party if he stays and the reported agreement for Zubimendi. I can understand their frustration at the signing of Nordgaard. Striker and LWF should be their priorities and they've signed a midfielder and a keeper.

Sorry mate due to my tone it probably came across like I was criticising you but I wasn't. I was agreeing and just going on a bit of general rant. 😅

The score only counts from the moment they actually play for you. How many times have we seen over the years upon a player's signing them being lauded and the answer for all ills? It happens across the board at all clubs. Frankly the proof is always on the pudding as they say. I've been a...

The arsenal fan criticism isn't really the quality of the player but that they are again not addressing the main holes in their squad. For the last 3 years they've clearly lacked a quality striker and wing depth for Saka and starting quality for Martinelli as his form has dropped off. Nordgaard...

Never at any point in his life was Son a better finisher than Messi. That kills the idea of him being the best finisher in the world stoke dead. I think this phenomenon exists because we weren't winning anything so the fans needed to latch on to something semi tangible and claiming X player is...

I'd be happy if we got him but I would expect him to play his actual position of ACM and not LWF as you assume. I don't think he lacks finesse, but I don't believe he has the level that Pep would likely want for an ACM. Eze is good but he's not that good if you think of the guys Pep has actually...

We disagree on where he plays. The majority of Palace games I watched he played centrally not as the LWF. If you check his heat maps it's matches up as do all of the statistically sites in regards to the position they believe he plays. They all say ACM like I see it. He could play Silva and...

But he wouldn't sign Eze for the wing. He'd sign him (or not) for the central attacking positions.

He doesn't have the level of finesse necessary for a Pep side. He has the industry and possibly the flair but not the subtlety and finesse. That's no shame though as Pep has incredibly high standards and like you say there aren't even many of those players in the PL.

@Legohamster They haven't needed an ACM and if they have, they have wanted a better/higher profile player. You're not going to replace De Bruyne with Eze for example.

He succeeded in the Europa League, he failed in everything else and miserably so in the league. Judging his overall time at Spurs comes down to how you weight the competitions and the performances and results of those competitions.

I know of him previously but a video posted that had significant highlights from a game Vs Al-Nassar was very impressive in the sense that he looked strong and physical, he seemed very up for the aerial challenge. I like that he looks incredible comfortable on the ball and happy to take part in...

I think Eze is being massively mis-profiled here. Many are talking about him being an option for the left and yes he is but that really not his primary position. If you've largely seen him for England you might think that's his role but he plays centrally for Palace (while favouring the left of...

Slightly different though. Demebele was a failed striker because he was indeed woeful upfront and fell backwards to midfield because he didn't cut it up front.

Gravenberch played 6 for Ajax and Bayern previously. It wasn't a totally new role for him.

Getting them both on the pitch isn't the issue. You can get any combination of players on a pitch. It's whether them being on the pitch at the same time and in the positions selected is effective or not. This of course remains to be seen.

There's a sense to it if we are going bring in an ever rotating cast of candidates. We let them play, we see whom does the best and sell on the ones who don't reach the level we want. Then rinse and repeat.

I guess the hope is with good coaching we can coax some quality out of him and I don't dislike the idea, just not sure what everyone else is seeing currently.
