There's spending money and then there's spending money on who the manager wants at the right price, I don't think Levy does the first and struggles with the second.

Accountancy profit is the only one that matters.

    Dominic Solanke

That was the problem I mentioned earlier. I posted a list of the top 20 goalscorers in Europe last season, they were either too expensive, just moved clubs or attacking midfielders. There are no suitable strikers at a price worth paying so we have to stick with what we have or pay over the top...

I don't disagree we need extra cover at CF but neither Toney nor Solanke are worth the money being asked for them and IF you're going to spend 60m you don't want Solanke you want better.

That's no an answer, which one of our current starting midfield does he replace. I don't see where he fits in our midfield.

    Dominic Solanke

No Toney is not a better option, but Solanke isn't the solution either. The problem is the solution is too expensive or unavailable so the best option is to stick with Richarlison as a fit Richarlison is better than Toney or Solanke.

There is a dearth of top strikers in European football at the moment that are young and/or affordable. This is the Golden Shoe table for 2023/24 and there's slim pickings there. Player Goals Points Harry Kane (Bayern) 36 72 Serhou Guirassy (Stuttgart) 28 56 Kylian Mbappe (PSG) 27 54...

No more so than Son, Richarlison and Kulusevski.

Players gambling is nothing new but players betting on their own team's matches is a big red flag for me, in the back of my mind every time he missed, put the ball out for a throw in or committed a foul I'd be thinking did he bet on that happening.

I said it before and I'll say it again, if Toney is the answer you're asking the wrong question.

I can see those six getting a lot of playing time in the early rounds of the cup competitions plus time off the bench in the PL.

They have a railway station right by the stadium and a tramstop 5 minutes walk away, what more do they want a fudging helipad and runway?

Germany most certainly do have the pyramid with Bundesliga, 2.B, 3.B and then Regionalliga split in to 5 regions, with promotion and relegation within that pyramid.

In Germany, Spain and Italy there are B teams from the top clubs playing in the 3rd or 4th tier and it's mostly semi-pro or amateur. As for attendances Arminia Bielefeld in Bundesliga 3 had an average attendance just shy of 9, 000 last season.

    Pierre-Emile Højbjerg

That completely bypassed me, I only registered the Fabrizio Romano and SSN tweets. Does seem strange but I suppose it eases Marseille's finances and Spurs then know they'll get the money next year and can plan accordingly.

I don't see loan mentioned anywhere. I thought it was a straight up sale.

When your centre backs are Maguire, Lindelof and Evans the ceiling isn't very high. Also the French league is not exactly the toughest league in the world, form there is hard to compare with say La Liga or Serie A.
