It's certainly possible for us to catch United. But if we did catch them, I think one of the teams currently in 3rd to 7th would also pick up enough points to finish above them, so reaching 2nd seems unlikely to me.
I think 67 points might be enough for 4th place this season. That would need us...
I should clarify. The Scottish champions are entitled to a place in the 3rd qualifying round of next season's CL. In your scenario, if Rangers win this year's EL and the Scottish league, they would take the EL winner's spot in next season's CL group stage. There would then be a vacancy in the CL...
No, Rangers would start in CL group stage and the club from the highest ranked country would move up from the previous qualifying round to fill the qualifying place vacated by Rangers.
19 teams so far qualified for last 32:
Roma, Arsenal, Slavia Praha, Leverkusen, Rangers, Benfica, Granada, PSV Eindhoven, Leicester City, Braga, Lille, AC Milan, Villarreal, Antwerp, Tottenham, Dinamo Zagreb, Hoffenheim, Crvena zvezda, Krasnodar
I believe it would be H2H on the matches involving the 3 tied teams. Since we'd all have got 6 points from those matches it would go to GD on the 3-way H2H.
