Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

I doubt if he’s ‘very old’, or a ‘spur’ for that matter.

Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

That’s becoming a trend for Tottenham managers!

    The transfer thread

Apparently we’re considering Ari Vaderci as a possible option if we can’t get Buonanotte over the line.

    Ange departs

Thanks @DaveT316 for articulating my thoughts in a far more coherent way than I could.

    Ange departs

I think he might get this week. But it’s not going to be pretty.

    ***OMT TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs Everton***

This board would self-combust if there was ever any prospect of us hiring Moyes. While we’re on the subject … what’s Rafa Benitez up to these days?

    ***OMT TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs Everton***

Had a bad feeling about today but didn’t expect it to be this bad.

Well we only lose tight games

Do keep up. He’s injured, out for 6 weeks (or maybe 12) and we’re doomed.

Contingency planning : we've found our guy

If we go early (and results will dictate whether we do or not) then it’ll be one of those 2, they’ll never get a better job offer imo. If we wait until the end of the season (or longer) then Iraola might be a possibility depending on what other options he’ll have. That’s assuming we shop in the...

    Ange departs

I don’t think he’d jump ship before the end of the season even if we waved a chequebook in front of him. I know others here think differently. Yes his stock is high at this moment but will it decrease by much over the rest of the season? I doubt it. And by then there might be better options open...

    Ange departs

I doubt if we’ll be the only club in for him if it happens.

Contingency planning : we've found our guy

If I remember correctly he (Klinsmann) advertised himself as a candidate for the job before we appointed Ange. But I don’t think his reputation is great at this stage. Unless he’s another aging misunderstood genius.

    ***OMT TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs Everton***

New manager impact. I think Moyes is no mug and he’s clearly a good fit. Yes they lost last night but he’ll improve them.

Not confident at all, it’s a bad time to play them.

Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

To me it feels like Romero has hardly played in the past 2 years (though the stats will no doubt prove me wrong) and has been only semi engaged with us since the lead-up to the 2022 World Cup. Overall I’m disappointed with him given the hype when he signed. I’m not sure we’re going to get much...

Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

I can’t see him here beyond the summer. Unless we win a trophy and even then I’m not sure if keeping him would be wise.

***OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v Expensive Stoke***

I had mixed feelings about signing Maddison. Yes we needed creativity. But immediately making him vice captain set off some alarm bells for me.

    Ange departs

The only focus we need in the league is to finish above 2 out of Leicester, Ipswich & Wolves. Not a huge ask. Either way I think he’s gone in the summer, I can’t see us signing up for another league season of this. I still think we might win a cup which would leave us with an interesting dilemma!

OMT - Tottenham Hotspur FC vs Tamworth FC

Jonathan Liew, so unsurprising really. To be fair I did like this line: “An extra 30 minutes in their legs: not ideal, but at least the experience of facing a cynical, physical low-block team will stand them in good stead for the north London derby on Wednesday.”
