Doubtless our fans have just made it that much harder for him. How is he to know he won't find himself in a similar position next season. Knowing the fans have got your back has to be a big part of it.

Okay scrub that bit. But the point still stands because we were n't to know that prior to the City game.

Personally I am embarrassed that so many fans wanted us to lose to City just so they could indulge in schadenfreude at Arsenal's failure. Especially so as it turns out they would still have failed had we beaten City. I cannot imagine how furious Ange must be feeling. I just hope he's not so...

Yeah, as mentioned before, around 4% of his goals were headers. Even that number is a surprise, although he can be quite deft with his nut tbf. Edit: saying that, low crosses across the face of the goal can often be more deadly, especially for the likes of Son.

So, extrapolating from Porro's stats above, last season he delivered roughly 37 accurate crosses from a total of 197 compared to 25 from just 77 in season 2022/23. Ooer. Well at least in theory it meant he created 12 more goalscoring chances than previously.

Excellent work, thanks. Stats seem to confirm main reasons suspected for drop in accuracy: - Kane's departure (scored 10 headers in last season with us, a PL record) - Perisic's long-term injury - Ange urging more risk taking - Son not a natural CF; seldom scores headers (about 4%)

Room for improvement of course but for me the odd extra cross going astray is preferable to the intermidable sideways passing in front of goal we usually have to endure.

Crossing stats look bad partly due to taking more risks? Begs the question what was Maddison and Porro's crossing like at previous clubs?

They were so triumphant about not losing to City. How sweet the irony if that's what lost them the title. :tongueout:

Deja vous - we said the same last summer. Then just when he was getting back to his best he got done by that Villa thug Cash.

No but they are an embarrassment the media are exploiting for all it's worth. SSN are having a field day. Notice they didn't ask how many Arse fans would be getting behind Totteham. As if they needed any further excuse to brick on us.

Cannot believe some Spurs fans will be hoping we lose to City tomorrow night. Because it's still not a given that the Gooners would go on to win the League. Imagine how we'd feel if, having caved in to City without too much of a fight, Arsenal were to go and bottle it once again on Sunday...

H'mm, not sure. We've been coming up against the low block for years but don't recall him being surrounded anyting like as much as he is nowadays. Maybe I need to watch more closely to work out what's really going on.

Declining physicality but also more targeted now that he's our main goal threat. Still has that burst of speed but needs to receive in space to start his run, something he's given much less chance to do these days. Opponents are crowding him more knowing how deadly he can be given space but also...

You do realise that statement in itself smacks of entitlement?

Struggled today against a rampant Liverpool but credit to him for persisting and setting up Richie's goal.

Wow something went right for us. Not sure Levy will agree when his charge shows zero signs of addressing the glaring deficiencies in our tactics.

Strange how Ange has somehow not noticed that every time we attack, they have 11 back, whereas whenever they attack we only have 3 or 4.
