I agree they overpaid for him but he wasn’t a poor player for Liverpool, that’s the part I’m saying is revisionism. He was their best player before they signed the likes of Salah and Van Dijk and was a big reason why they got back into the top 4 under Klopp.

They still had to get the spending right which they hadn’t done in the past, it’s fair to say eyebrows were raised when they dropped £150m on two players, including £75m on a centre back from Southampton. I disagree that Coutinho was useless, he was a very good player for Liverpool, clearly...

Yeah mainly because some fans let them do whatever they want. We could get relegated and some would still say it’s just a blip. It’s truly amazing how allergic we are to trophies in ENIC’s time and some still think they’re the best owners in the world and we can’t do any better.

That’s Barcelona’s fault for paying over the odds. If Levy got £100m for Brennan Johnson you’d be lauding him.

Hamstring injury I read. No return date but they haven’t ruled him out for the season.

Good thing they have world class wingers rather than the Poundland wingers we have. Not to mention they have arguably the best number 9 in the world in Lewandowski.

I’m worried scum will get their usual goal from a set piece. I think it’s still 50/50 as PSG look like the better side but too tough to call.

We don’t have the power to change the manager either, that doesn’t stop us wanting change in that area.

I realise they own the club, but the fans can put pressure on the owners as they are doing now. I guess I’ve got my answer, you’re happy to give them an indefinite pass regardless of performance on the pitch.

Not if the squad is not equipped to get over the line in the first place. I guess the question is how many fallow years should we tolerate. They shouldn’t get a life pass, especially when we’ve not exactly got a lot of trophies to fall back as evidence of success.

By your own definition then we have largely failed in the years since Poch was canned. 1 appearance in 6 seasons through the league. And the PL and CL which you covet so much, we haven’t won and been close to winning also since Poch was relieved of his duties. I find it hard to to reconcile how...

He’d be a good guest I’m sure. He’s articulate and is knowledgeable about the club and the game as a whole. Surely it’s a good thing to have contrasting viewpoints and not just Gary Mabbutt esque posters who wouldn’t dare criticise the club and think they can do no wrong?

I think it’s a bit unfair to label Brighton as the flavour of the season. They’ve been a decent outfit for a good 4-5 years now. They haven’t translated their relative success into trophies but they’re very well run and don’t seem to be greatly impacted when they lose players and managers. That...

Not only that, but people also downplay other teams success: Leicester - Fluke one off who got relegated soon after, even though they also won the FA cup. Liverpool - Always above us anyway/should be winning things/doping Arsenal - I’ve seen people say they should be disappointed even if...

Couldn’t find your post about Ange referencing the Emirates Marketing Project game from last season. Couldn’t agree more. Why bring that game up again and yes I see the irony that I have just done the same. But he knows it split the fanbase. The fact that he still doesn’t get shows a lack of character and awareness.

    Ange departs

People have been pointing to injuries all season even though they tend to follow Ange. And some have argued it’s not the system that has contributed to our appalling defensive record. It’s purely a lack of leadership and mistakes from players, not the system.

Sorry how have I proven your point mate? Yes I stand by that view Dier had become one of the players from the Poch era that had been underperforming for a number of years and needed to go. And I wouldn’t have blamed him if he didn’t want to hang around and warm the bench at his age.
