    Ange departs

Poch was at Soton for a season and a half finishing 14th then 8th. Not having them 18th over the course of practically two seasons - there's a bit of a difference there....

    Ange departs

So Anges past 66 league games have been poor, a whole season of European football and ridiculous injuries to contend with included. So let's go with the guy with a much better record for the past 65 games and no experience of Europe or winning anything yeah :D

    Ange departs

Do you mean by Ange? Because it was mentioned here a lot of times over the months. Why would Ange announce it beforehand? That would get into the mindset of players who were playing in the league games, and whilst we obviously did poorly Ange didn't actually want us to lose those games...

    Ange departs

A manager that can cope with all the competitions - when has Frank shown this? Or the other reported one Silva? Would love us to go all out for Glasner, maybe with no Europe there could be a small chance.....

    Ange departs

Yeah I feel sad, but I understand the decision. I'll reserve my judgement until the successor is announced but if Frank is the best we could get I'm not convinced this was the right move but will be behind him whilst he's here of course...

    Ange departs

Considering what he'd just achieved they had to make it clear to everyone why they've come to this conclusion....

    Ange departs

We will be back here within a year with some recycled debates for our new manager once it comes to realisation he's not the messiah :D....

    Ange departs

So you thought Levy was ok with sticking with him during a run of awful results and not playing some of his fit best players in the league and happy for him to gamble on the one hope we had left of CL - the EL when he was massively underperforming in the league and no good reason for it? Nah....

    Ange departs

No, it's a football thing that occurs in all competitions. I've seen it various times in league games, FA Cup games you name it. When you don't play together consistently it impacts performance it's a pretty logical thing to happen, not just a Spurs thing and not down to performance bonuses :D .....

Contingency planning : we've found our guy

Just can't agree Mikey, if a load of the players on the pitch were underperforming because the players weren't bothered or didn't like the manager/buy in to his methods or whatever, Levy would very quickly catch wind of this. Especially with our league form there is no chance Ange would have...

    Ange departs

Sure. It's just funny, as I said previously how people on here want to assess transfers of our rivals vs our transfers. If we signed both of these players the reaction would be very different but as it's Man U of course they will flop....

    Ange departs

Yeah because any team has 100% hit rates with transfers don't they? How many of Man Us incomings were from the PL last season vs abroad? Dress it up any way you want they will both be good acquisitions...

Contingency planning : we've found our guy

Which of our players have wanted to have a say in the management of the team? A lot of them have made it clear they love playing for Ange which is not the same thing, and like it or not and right or wrong player buy in to the manager is massive. That of course does not mean a manager should stay...

    Ange departs

That's because a lot of their signings have been 'names' from abroad. Cunha and Mbuemo are not glamorous names and have proven themselves to be very good players in the PL. People hoping for them to flop because at Man U are going to be disappointed....

    Ange departs

The point about not having his first choice available isn't just the quality of those players, it's the fact they do/don't play together week in week out - every week there were changes. Yes Ange at a middling club might have a perceived weaker team but if they are the guys usually playing...

I'm not going to litter this thread with the same old debate that's been done to death. My eyes are perfectly open and just have a different opinion to you :)....

    Ange departs

I'm with you. Frank undoubtedly has done a good job at Brentford, I'm not sure some of our fans appreciate just how difficult it can be to manage our club from the chairman to fan expectations. I would say Nuno was someone that had done a decent job at Wolves all in all and look what happened...

    Ange departs

Whilst the club won't be making an official announcement if he is staying, there will definitely be news fed through to some of the major journos that he is being kept on for the start of the season....

    Transfer thread

Yes, it's an interesting topic and both you and @Bishop are right. You have to consider that finding players abroad will usually be cheaper vs the fact that PL proven players are far more expensive (both due to the fact they are PL proven and the fact PL clubs have more money and don't need to...
