Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach Certainly puts into perspective. Even if he'd won every game, we'd still only have a 4 point lead over Liverpool right now and we still have to go to Anfield. Villas-Boas 3 points in 7 games against the top 7 KILLED US.

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach Errr... didn't Chelsea go on to win the biggest competition in club football? That from being left by AVB in 6th place and 2 goals down against Napoli? If you're not respected and not liked by the players... being decent at everything else counts for absolutely...

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach Both tactically and team selection wise Sherwood is starting to leave a lot to be desired. On the positive side, it is clear he is popular with the players and people consistently under estimate how far this goes. That said, he hardly couldn't be popular...

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach Another one who needs to lay off the drugs. Yeah, all he's done is bring back Adebayor, bring in Betaleb, play Lennon, Vertoghen, Dembele in their correct positions, bring back the morale of the players who some have conceded 'gave up' against Liverpool, play a...

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach Some poor decisions team selection wise and tactically tonight from TS. Of course the decisions didn't help but it is hard to argue it would have made much difference to the final outcome if they'd only gone our way. City are just unstoppable right now. Last 12...

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach Didn't do at all if you read what I posted. I just stated a simply fact: AVB over 54 games couldn't manage any 6 game run to match the one we're currently on. Nothing to do with Sherwood who may well now flop and do a Juande Ramos but the point would still stand.

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach I think it was actually a tougher run than people realise. Man Utd are 4th in the form table for the last 8 games. They've won 6 of the last 8. The only defeats? Chelsea away and us at home. So that result even better in that context. Crystal Palace are 10th, so...

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach So 2.33 points per game? Versus the current run of 2.66 points per game? Of course, the longer term stat is more reliable than the shorter but this wasn't the point I was making anyway. I was pointing out that Sherwood's 6 game run is better than any AVB 6 game...

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach Yes but surely that is obviously already the case? AVB had 54 league games which surely would have meant runs of relatively easy games and relatively more difficult games at various points and at no point did we achieve 16 points from any 6 game run.

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach I don't think anyone would dispute the 2nd part of that. For the first. were they? AVB had 54 league games, 2 pre-seasons, taking over a team that had finished 4th and he could not manage 16 points in 6 games (our current run) during any period of those 54 games...

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach Agreed, apart from perhaps on Man Utd who have 4 of the last 5 apart from losing to us, but in the context of inheriting a fortunate 7th place and sinking I think we've seen solid and objective improvement. The way we were playing pre-Sherwood I think we were...

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach Opposition DVD guy. It is how the Chelsea players regarded him. And yeah of course I'm being disrespectful but then he disrespected us. You can **** off fans the fans if you're Alex Ferguson or Roy Keane and won everything in the game but not if you've had just...

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach The long term is always through the Sporting Director. Arnesen left, Comolli's head coach appointment was a failure and he had to go but both left considerable legacies taken on by those that followed. This is clearly why Levy was eager to return to it. No doubt...

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach Agreed. He has come in and decided on horses for courses. People are interpreting this as some sort of Redknapp MK II but this hasn't been the case. He has adopted a highly pragmatic approach so far. The ODVDG meanwhile was trying to fit square pegs into round...

*** Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United OMT ***

Re: Heroes!!!! True about Man Utd but considering the amount of injuries to key players, and losing Ade during the game, it is probably our best win since the same game last seazon.

    Next Spurs Manager v.2

Yep but nothing I said contradicted that. I said he'd won two European trophies with Ajax going back 15-20 years. Nothing away from the biggest club in the Netherlands and he's been at the likes of Bayern and Barca? The likes of Sven have won that many? Even Ramos with an unfasionable club? He...

    Next Spurs Manager v.2

AVB took over a team that had just finished 4th, had the benefit of Bale and delivered a challenge on the top 4. There were little suggestion that we should sack him in the summer. And rightly so! Meanwhile, Sherwood, taking over Spurs in 7th, having just suffered our third hammering of the...

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach Well thumbs up for horses for courses, so far. Sherwood, Ferdinand, Ramsey and Freund nowhere as daft as suggested!
