So this is what OUR Wembley will be about ..

It's a UEFA rule that alcohol can only be sold in 'hospitality' areas of stadiums in their competitions. It's been the same at the Lane for Europa League games. Of course not many stadiums have a hospitality area the size of Wembley's, and it's a bit of a cheat when the majority aren't really...

A question for our American cousins

I've bought Knicks tickets a few times from Stubhub without any problems. Price will depend on who they're playing.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

And the lower tier doesn't look anything like the profile shown in drawing.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

It's pretty easy to build a tier at that angle when the stadium only has 18,000 seats!

According to their website the seats are 7.5m at the closest point, with a 24 degree gradient on the lower tier.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

The difference is the size of the broadcast deals, which makes Kabaddi an irrelevant comparison. The main revenue source for professional sport comes from the tv rights not the people who actually make the effort to go and watch it live. The NFL aren't going to get significantly more money...

Champions League 2016/17 - Group E: CSKA Moscow, Bayer Leverkusen, Monaco

This is a factor which hasn't been mentioned too often. It's not just the playing side of things that will benefit from the familiarity. All the other aspects of making Wembley feel like our home can be trialed. Also, having the full capacity available will be a case study for negotiations with...

Champions League 2016/17 - Group E: CSKA Moscow, Bayer Leverkusen, Monaco

I think I remember reading somewhere that the reduced capacity meant that we wouldn't have been able to give all season ticket holders a seat. Sponsor tickets, away tickets, and then the fact that perimeter LED advertising is taller for Champions League games meaning we would lose the first row...

Champions League 2016/17 - Group E: CSKA Moscow, Bayer Leverkusen, Monaco

Wembley always announces attendance based on tickets issued.

    Ingerlund

Sponsors have never had any influence on who gets picked for England. As an example see Pearce refusing to select Beckham for TeamGB in 2012. Perhaps worryingly, a lot of the 'golden generation' players were kept in the team because the managers thought they were the best available.

The thing is, I'm not sure whether Sam was having a go at Rooney or not in front of the cameras. The comment could have been a back handed compliment directed at Rooney, or it could have been an a joke to distract from the question of why he was playing so deep. However, England won, its a...

Champions League 2016/17 - Group E: CSKA Moscow, Bayer Leverkusen, Monaco

I think it will be between 60-70k due to the teams that we've drawn. We have around 21k season ticket holders, so I'm assuming most of those have already taken up tickets (everyone I know has, even if it was likely they couldn't attend all the games). I'm then assuming that most remaining...

Add the above to Rooney's interview where he unashamedly says that he decided to ignore Hodgson and take corners instead of Kane at the Euros, because he believes that players should have a RIGHT to make decisions on the pitch. There are plenty of examples of this in the past. A highly capped...

Champions League 2016/17 - Group E: CSKA Moscow, Bayer Leverkusen, Monaco

The biggest problem with old timers is that they cant stand for too long, so Wembley will have seating on the pitch area. Seats and the concert cover could mean that the grass will be dead or dying by the time it's uncovered for the match.

Champions League 2016/17 - Group E: CSKA Moscow, Bayer Leverkusen, Monaco

I just saw that there is a concert at Wembley 4 days before our first Champions League game. It will be interesting to see the condition of the pitch!

    New Kit?

I'm surprised that we haven't made more of it being the last season at the original WHL. Though I wouldn't be surprised if a 'last game' kit appears like the 125 one from a few years ago.

I think you've been unlucky on your trips to the lane. We've had some great stewards in the areas where I've sat over the years.

    Fixture & Ticket News 2016/17

I've never used Stubhub for anything in the UK, but I don't get the big deal. The prices are capped so it's not like people are making a huge mark up on the tickets once you take away the fees. Plus it's season ticket holders who have presumably been going to games for a while rather than touts...

Supreme Training Complex Has Nearly Paid for Itself

I think the numbers are interesting. However this thread title is a bit misleading as our 'academy scheme' might be run from the training complex, but that doesnt mean it is responsible for the revenue. It would be more interesting to see what sales looked like before 2004, and then under...
