England qualified for France with a 100% winning record and look what happened. The likelihood is that we won't have any idea whether this is a good or bad appointment until June 2018.

    Fixture & Ticket News 2016/17

The TV gantry is located on the south side of the stadium, so no doubt that played a part in the decision to sell the north side first. Also, if they let people buy tickets everywhere and the game doesn't sell out, then we will end up paying for more stewards and cleaners as people spread out.

Yes, you can book individual seats.

    Fixture & Ticket News 2016/17

You can look at it two ways: as % of total capacity, or % of total tickets available to members after season tickets and away fans. In the latter calculation I think the number of tickets available has been halved. There's no perfect solution. I was lucky enough to get offered a season ticket...

Its not the worst position, it's actually a pretty typical position for a new England Manager. Venables and Capello were taking over teams that had failed to qualify for the previous tournament. Eriksson took on a team that had finished bottom of its euros group. McClaren and Hodgson both got...

I think Keegan was the last manager to be appointed by the old "International Committee" model. Since then the FA have had 4 different chairman (about to appoint a 5th), 5 different chief executives, and are currently looking for the 5th permanent England manager. Every time it is someone...

12m a year? Going by reports Hodgson was paid up to £3.9m a year, Capello's salary peaked at £6m a year, McClaren was around £2.5m a year, Eriksson £4.5m by the time he left. The average basic salary for a top international manger at the moment seems to be around the £2m, but that's before...

I don't think David Gill being involved points to Neville. He was never involved with the football side of the club at Man U. Also, he left at the same time as Ferguson, so has never been involved in the appointment of a manager. Add that to a Chief Exec with limited history in football, and...

I think Klinsmann should be in there. The ongoing restructure of the England youth programme reflects the Germany approach while Klinsmann was their manager. Plenty of experience of international tournament football as both player and manager.

Interesting press conference yesterday considering the current FA Chief Exec is a marketing specialist. Glenn actually said he wasn’t a football expert twice in Hodgson’s farewell press conference. When pressed why he said: “Well, I’ll be the counterbalance. We’ve got two experts around me...”...

That's pretty standard these days, access for emergency service, grounds equipment, other event related access as you said.

    Schedules

I still don't understand what it's got to do with the FA, or what power they have to help us. The FA doesn't have any power or influence over when the Premier League schedules fixtures for its competition. They also don't have any influence on when the Football League schedules Capital One Cup...

    Schedules

It's actually the Premier League who decide the schedule. Nothing to do with the FA. It's also the Premier League who structure their TV deals in a way that lets their broadcasters pick and move the games.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

The last time the NFL announced an extension for Wembley it was 'at least 1 game per year'. So the number of guarenteed games has gone up. The 'at least' part just gives the NFL the opportunity to look at other venues, and probably some negotiating power with Wembley. Neither Spurs nor Wembley...

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

Germany (6 weeks) and Italy (can be 3 weeks) both have winter breaks to renovate their pitches. The Stadio Olimpico has a bad reputation despite having more natural light due to the distance between the seats and pitch. The Allianz Arena has Desso which fine due to their extended break mid season.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

The San Siro was infamous for having a terrible pitch from the 90s (when the general standard of pitches started improving) until recently. It used to be relaid 6-7 times a year. 3 years ago they put in a Desso pitch if a similar type to the one at Wembley, but it still needs to be reseeded in...

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

The deciding factor will be when each team wants to use the stadium. No pitch in a major stadium is able to take two full sets of fixtures, the growing conditions are too restricted. If there isn't an overlap between ours and their requirements we would have got it anyway. Just now we'll...

Wembley is privately owned, while the Olympic Stadium is a publically owned. They're very different situations.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

I'm really not a fan of this campaign to put public pressure on the FA. It suggests a bit of desperation that things can't be done in private. It's pretty clear to everyone that if Spurs pay the right money then we will wrap up a deal for Wembley. If Spurs won't and someone else will then...

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

Once the stadium is open the club will be able to demonstrate the impact on the surrounding area, crowd flow etc. At that point it should be straightforward enough to get the number increased. The other route is to apply for an event license on a case by case basis which is also pretty common.
