    Passing Chalkboards thread

Something I've noticed about Dembele. As well as always picking the safe pass (eventually), he nearly always wants to pass towards the left wing, to the extent that he doesn't even look up to the right. On occasions in Sunday's game we had players in space on the right (and no left wing) and he...

    Andre Villas-Boas - Head Coach

Re: AVB - Making Tottenham His Own http://www.statsbomb.com/2013/10/manager-statistical-fingerprints-andre-villas-boas/ An interesting one for the stats nerds, suggests good things are coming despite yesterday's awful result.

OMT Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea, WHL, Sat 28 Sept

I thought we did well until the goal, but then Chelsea changed the game with their niggly fouls and winning a few cheap free kicks, somewhat helped by the ref, who bought most of it. The momentum gone, they then stepped up a gear as we know they can, and we didn't really have an answer. Mata...

*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur - Tromsø IL ***

Dembele's reminded me of Modric's stress fracture the other season. Looked innocuous at the time. Was it Bowyer?

*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur - Tromsø IL ***

Ultimately, any positive goal difference is worth less than a point at the end of the season. If we can win while conserving energy, I'd rather the players keep something back for those hard to earn points at the end of the season and not tire themselves out by February.

F.A statement on the word "yid"

FFS you can't ban a word. It's like a baseball bat. You can use it to play a game or you can use it as a weapon, but you don't stop some kid having one because they might hurt somebody with it. You go after the people who commit the offence. Go after the hissing scumbag bigots, but leave the...

    ***OMT*** Tottenham Hotspur vs Norwich

Eriksen has great awareness of team mates running past him on the blind side, that alone gives him options.

Eriksen looks like Modric 20 yards up the pitch. Could be exactly what we need.

What is our partnership with Madrid?

How do we know that Real didn't help/weren't responsible for scouting all our new signings? It all happened really quickly after Baldini got here, and he has good connections there... I wouldn't dismiss the partnership so quickly. As for their behaviour re Bale, they've always lacked class...

Modric storming it, the Bernabeu chanting his name. I miss the little fella.

Erik Lamela (announced by Roma p.41)

Alternatively, given that these players are unlikely to figure in the NLD, and the next match is 2 weeks away, what's the hurry? Expect Lamela, Erikson, Coentrao, Turan and Messi to be announced on Tuesday morning :-"

    Gareth Bale

Re: Gareth Bale 1. In all likelihood, Bale has been training in isolation at least initially because of his injury, however slight, or lack of match fitness. 2. Once it was clear that he was leaving, it was of no benefit to the team to have him training with the team due to risk of injury...

So can we now agree that this affair has successfully smokescreened the appalling assault on the steward in the same match?

    Sandro - Beast

Re: Is sandro as good as popular opinion suggests? Yes, without a doubt. Just watch him. For a spell last season he could have been MoM in every game. Even coming into the team without a pre-season to learn the new system, he has been the pick of the midfield by a long way this time round.

*Official Match Thread* Tottenham Hotspur vs Norwich

Defoe just lags 3 yards behind the last defender when we break down the flanks, so there's no chance of getting on the end of Bale/Lennon's crosses... and he's completely static when we play through the middle. So frustrating.
