Why does Tel look shattered already? :/

Plus side is they haven’t created loads - we’re looking decent defensively. One of those games though where they seem to constantly outnumber us. Can never quite work out why.

And then he didn’t track the runner, which meant Gray was marking two players (incl. the goal scorer). The guy has no defensive intelligence, I’m really done with him at this point.

Yeah this is my biggest worry.

Interested in your response to this @DubaiSpur!

    Tottenham Hotspur V Brentford

I’m talking about the luck of how well your opponents take their chances, which I think is indeed luck (aside from putting pressure on them while they shoot etc)

    Tottenham Hotspur V Brentford

Don’t think it’s an alternative thing - I’d say we were both luckier today and unluckier in other games.

    Tottenham Hotspur V Brentford

Personally I don’t think our performance today was better than any other match - just got lucky that Brentford didn’t take their chances, and we got a weird own goal. And I say that as an Ange fan and general optimist! Very happy with the 3 pts though. Hopefully gives everyone a lift...

    Injuries

I thought the margins were small at first too, but then out of possession you’re looking at an extra 30%, which is quite a lot. Think I agree with your assessment. We often seem to be running around the pitch without getting that close to the opposition. I hope that’s just because of a vicious...

    Daniel Levy - Chairman

Everyone talks about 1 trophy in 25 years, but other than the ‘big five’ wealthy/bankrolled teams, which teams have done better? I think it’s literally just Leicester, who’ve won 2. And I think we’ve done better than Saudi Sportswashing Machine / Villa / Leeds / Everton combined?

    Injuries

The thing is, it doesn’t actually look to me like we’re sprinting around way more than any other team. Does it look that way to anyone else? And what is it about the system that requires so much sprinting? To me our press looks less aggressive than other pressing teams.

    Pape Matar Sarr

What do people think Sarr’s ceiling is? He looked great when he first broke into the team, but hasn’t really pushed on from there IMO. He obviously has a great engine, but I’m starting to wonder if he has any other standout traits? Bergvall’s already come in and shown more potential IMO - has...

Lol, of all the the criticisms to throw at Ange, ‘not giving young players gametime’ is a weird one.

    The Goon Thread

Only just seen the red card - correct decision for me. Yellow for being super cynical + yellow for raking the shin/ankle. Don’t understand the fuss, or the overturn.

    Daniel Levy - Chairman

I’ve posted this before, showing that our revenue as a percentage of the richest PL club’s revenue has grown a fair bit since Levy was here: http://www.glory-glory.co.uk/attachments/upload_2023-1-24_11-5-26-png.14981/ The only club that’s done better is Man C, but they did it with a £1bn gift...

    Ange in or out?

Well said, this is the #1 reason I’ve not given up on Ange - because the players clearly haven’t.

    Ange in or out?

Young players like Porro, Davies, Bentancur, Maddison, Son and Richarlison?

    Ange in or out?

Yeah fair enough. I don’t know enough about his historic injuries.

    Ange in or out?

I don’t think it’s just about the quality of the squad. I think it’s about the extra fatigue caused by lack of rotation, and Ange’s system demanding high energy that the players don’t have. I appreciate some think he should adapt his system, but I can understand his rationale for persisting with...

    Ange in or out?

I’m still Ange In, primarily because a) both he and the players seem to still have commitment and conviction, and b) I can believe that the prolonged injury crisis has had a massive effect on performances and results, and because of that you can’t really judge Ange’s potential here.
