***OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Emirates Marketing Project***

Exactly - everyone criticises Biss for giving away a goal, but then Skipp doing something similar gave us a goal - which none of the commentators mentioned. That’s Ange ball!

*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Aston Villa FC ***

Excellent performance given all the injuries, especially Bentancur getting taken out early doors. Just couldn’t finish. Frustrating result, but still feel very positive about this team and manager.

    Guglielmo Vicario

What a fudging save last night. The one down to his left. That was world class, and probably won us the game - would have been very different going 1-0 down against a very well-organised Palace team. What a player he has looked so far.

Yeah thought he was most at fault for both goals today (I.e. incl. offside one). But other than that I thought he was outstanding.

    ***TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs Arsenal OMT***

There was also the Nketiah chance, again from a Spurs mistake (Udogie back pass).

Does anyone suffer from mental illness on here?

Really glad to hear that you took action and that it’s helping!

    Brennan Johnson

According to Understat Johnson’s played a similar number of PL minutes as a striker as he has done a no.10 / on the right. So I’m hoping we have him pegged primarily as competition for Richi.

    Tanguy Ndombele

Ah fair enough - so it wouldn't cost us anything extra, it would just bring the costs forward from an accounting perspective. Either way I agree loaning him our is preferable!

    Tanguy Ndombele

I think that's a slightly misleading way of looking at it. His remaining £20m book value is there whether we loan him our out or cancel his contract or have him rotting in the reserves, right? So it's really just the wages that are the question. Though to be fair I agree he's unlikely to accept...

Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

Ange's argument that those players need gametime is totally fair enough. But giving all of that gametime in a cup game, rather than giving some of it in the prior league game, indicates that he is prioritising the league over the cups. To me that is just undebatable. Whether you're happy or not...

To be fair that looks borderline at best: (Sign me up to be a VAR technician!)

fudging brilliant. All aboard the Ange train. COYS

    Emerson Royal

I also think there was less space out wide than usual because Brentford had 5 at the back. Against 4 at the back I think there’ll be a bit more room for Sonny to build up a head of steam to run at people. Don’t think he’s ever been as effective beating people from a standing start.

    Micky van de Ven

It's funny I came away feeling not that confident in him, but I think that's just because he looks potentially like a bit of a clumsy oaf to me - just the way his body is built and the way he moves. But in practice I guess he didn't actually do anything clumsy or oafish - quite the opposite in fact!

    Oliver Skipp

Yeah if Royal is going to consistently play so centrally like that, I think the player in Skipp's role has to play more as a no.10 / inside forward. Otherwise they're just getting in each other's way. Or Skipp ends up going out wide behind Kulu, which feels pointless as it's just the CM and RB...

    Oliver Skipp

My biggest beef with Skipp has always been that he doesn’t get on the ball enough. Yesterday’s passing stats were: - Bissouma: 116 - Royal: 106 - Maddison: 63 - Kulu: 58 - Skipp: 39 (equal to around 52 if he hadn’t been subbed). And last season he averaged 45 passes per 90, compared to around...

    Emerson Royal

Yeah will be interesting to keep an eye on that - he’s not slow, but he’s not super quick either. I think his top speed is better than his acceleration. Might just need to learn to give himself a yard or two head start. Whereas Udogie’s top speed looks outstanding!

    Dejan Kulusevski

I do wonder whether Ange will ever consider playing Kulu alongside Maddison (or in place of him is he’s out). With Perisic/Solomon/Porro out wide. Without an overlapping full-back it does feel like we lack penetration down that right side with Kulu always cutting in.

    Yves Bissouma

May be unfair, but one of my biggest gripes with Conte last season was Bissouma looking like a shadow of himself under him. Brilliant to see him looking so outstanding today.
