    Ben Davies

Think you underestimate him on the ball mate. He's not as good on the ball as Romero and Gray, but clearly better on the ball than Dragusin and imo at least equal to VdV in that regard. Played loads of really good, useful passes again now when back. Makes fairly consistent good decisions.

    Djed Spence

Difference being that Spence is clearly a player Ange rates. And imo Spence is a player that clearly suits this system whereas Reguilon quite clearly doesn't. Time will tell if we ever have the three of them fully fit at the same time. I think people underestimate Porro a bit and also...

    Archie Gray

I think we're all looking forward to seeing him in midfield. He's done great at CB, imo done well at full back. I'm excited to see what he can do in midfield, but also think it may take some time to settle into a midfield role and get used to it. Time will tell, he'll surely get his chances in...

    Really good once again.

Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

Most managers would complain twice as much about half the injuries Ange has suffered this season.

Temporarily reorienting the earth or sun should be on the table too... (Shotout to anyone who's read/seen "What if" by the xkcd guy).

Alternatively a bit unlucky in some of those other games? Thought it was a close game that could have gone either way. That's been true for quite a few of our losses too. Getting the first goal was vital.

    Tottenham Hotspur V Brentford

Agreed. Two big differences are the game state and how the opposition play. Take the Elfsborg and Hoffenheim games as examples. Against Hoffenheim we defended deep for significant periods, allowed quite a few crosses. Against Elfsborg we pushed high. Biggest differences being that we were ahead...

Gray has been really good. Davies imo too has been really rather good. So many options... Ange spoilt for them. Only those tough headache decisions on which good option to pick.

    Djed Spence

Or is it his best side? Time will tell, but imo looks about as natural a left back as a right footed player can be.

While also being really good on the ball. Particularly in deep buildup, but also getting forward. Top level left back if this is a consistent level for him.

If true that we're pushing for him I'm guessing Dragusin's injury is quite bad. And/or Romero has had a significant set back. Think he's capable of being a good player, but has struggled for consistency (key for a CB) and seems error prone. Could a change of scenery help with that?

    Tottenham Hotspur V Brentford

Son, Richarlison and Kulusevski all struggled for energy imo. Turns out having two centre backs that are reasonably comfortable (or more) on the ball under pressure is really rather useful. There were periods of sustained pressure, but we were able to get out and keep possession without having...

    Tottenham Hotspur V Brentford

Not much tactical difference in that from what we've been seeing in recent weeks imo. Just that it worked this time. No individual errors that cost us and we defended well. Had Brentford won the ball and countered from the buildup to the 2-0 it would be all why is Sarr so high up the pitch...

    Tottenham Hotspur V Brentford

Yeah. No choice. Several players struggling for energy. Even just being able to give Bergvall and Sarr a start on the bench giving us fresh first level quality legs to put on helped.

    Tottenham Hotspur V Brentford

Decent performance in the circumstances. Quite low energy from us, particularly in the second half. Had to dig deep. Defended quite well. But definitely a game that could have gone otherwise (like many of our recent losses). Some really good performances out there. Spence the best, but others...

Assuming this one is close to done (never done until it's official). I hope we're still looking for more business before the window closes.

Absolutely. By the time Ornstein was reporting it he was reporting that the medical was already done. Again goes to show. Some things leak, some things don't. We probably try to keep most of our dealings quiet as long as possible, but sometimes that's impossible.

    Daniel Levy - Chairman

Comes back to the conversation I've been having with others and I think you too here. What is it actually good for Levy to be buffered from. I don't see him being involved in negotiations as a negative at all, I really struggle to see how it even could be a negative.

If true he seems like a good signing. Really think we need another quality ball playing CB at some point, but failing that someone at least comfortable under pressure is important. Other qualities too. Physicality. Bit of experience. I don't know though.
