    Shame many fans did not show Harry the same respect but there we go. But I agree with you, Dembele would have been a major surprise to start so cannot say I am surprised by that, and nor should we be. Ade may be an issue of fitness, or AVB may think Defoe is the better option (!)

    For all sorts of reasons they are not comparable reference points. Could go through both of them squads and identify where they were stronger than us and use it to justify my point that world class players are not something you accept the loss off because of some vague notion of a 'system'...

    I assume Dempsey has been bought for his ability to play as a striker, or at least in support of the front man. He is a direct attacking midfielder, not particularly skillful. I think he will be effective but would not be content if Ade gets injured or is unavailable.
