So often the passing and movement was a bit off. Credit to them for putting pressure on every run, every pass. When we made a successful pass normally under pressure, it was hard for the next man to take in their stride, and then the next ball suffered. So many times we missed the final ball or...

A bit school yard from us. No lack of commitment. A lack of team cohesion though.

Thought we played well in the main. A bit disjointed, lacking some confidence and fluidity and that was the difference. Can we score? Will be a tough ask. But pleased to see a more polished team back on the pitch even if they are rusty

    Putin & Russia

Scroll back a few pages and what you outline here is already a massive step change from previous posts. Only a few months back few could even acknowledge there was Russian support in Ukraine prewar. That is how out of kilter with reality our perspective is. You also seemed to find it hard to...

What you seem to be saying is you’ll choose the historical narrative (WWII) to fit your bias. Are you able to step away and actually look at the context of recent interventions? You don’t think the west had interests both geopolitical and resource based when acting in all the above listed...

The US funding of ‘pro democracy’ groups in Ukraine date back to the early 2000s. I preempted your post and gave you one link, but can provide more. The more detailed history of Yanachovich and Maiden can be seen in that link above. As noted it’s a left leaning publication not some trump...

    Putin & Russia

You do realise Yanacovich was freely and fairly elected by all Ukrainians as a pro Russian president? You knew that of course. You also obviously know that this democratically elected president was disposed by a coup that was in part fuelled by US funding of far right groups? The UK had a...

The aid budget is the tip of an iceberg. The sums we are about to spend on arms will be paid for by spending less on other things. At a time when public finances are squeezed - we spend more than we receive in tax. Someone has to pay. Funding for services and people in the UK will take a hit.

And the kid getting bullied used to be the bullies close friend until we came along and pulled them away from their friendship. The role the US has played manipulating Ukraine away from Russia is ignored. Conflicts don’t erupt out of nowhere there are two decades of history that are largely...

Not to mention peace is a good thing. Not killing young lads is a good thing - seems lost on most. Not turning a nation into a waste land likewise.

Without Romero and VDV we are compromised. Not pushing up as highly and compacting the space.

I guess the question is: what would other managers have achieved missing both CBs and starting teenagers? I don’t think even the best mangers would have done that well. And there is some silver lining in seeing Spence, Gray and Bergvall come through. The issue for me is the press and how open...

    Elon Musk buys twitter (again)

The UK government bought a potential competitor. I think it’s part owned by an Indian concern but the low level satellites aren’t orbiting. Which must be a requirement!

We do forget that we played four teenagers tonight. That’s a lot of inexperience. The team shape and coordination is lacking. No one looked in tune with each other.

He’s rarely a leader though. He plays off others but isn’t the man to standup and dictate the play. He’s best playing off Maddison for example.

Kulu, Madison, Romero, Bentancur, Solanke are our more experienced players, who you need away in Europe. We had Bentancur and 60 mins of Madison. We looked like a team of kids and players lacking leadership which is what we were. There are issues beyond the lack of senior players. Our shape...

We have played 4 teenagers. But the lack of confidence in our shape. The lack of coordination in our press and the way it actually helps the opposition opening up space for them. These things are not good enough. I could see Levy act now if there was someone semi retired who could come in for...

Only real mitigation is we’ve played 4 teenagers. And we are still missing our first choice CBs. What annoys me most is our sprinting uncoordinated press that leaves players free and opens up space for the opposition.
