    Good game of football to be fair. We probably shaded it. The two goals showed us at our worst and our best. Thought Udogie and Bentancur were the pick of the bunch. Bentancur MOTM for me. 1-1 isn’t a great result though. Will take more than I believe we are capable of to go through.

    If you watch the league games v Everton, Leicester, Arsenal, Chelsea and Fulham, our league position is very much a result of our play. There are some statistical anomalies but we play an unusual style of football IMO. Our league position and our form over 18 months tells me all I need to know.

    It’s a win so fair play but does nothing to alleviate concerns. Mediocre first half and dreadful second half. This is arguably the worst opposition in Premier League history and we couldn’t force our game on them for a lot of that. It doesn’t bode well for the Europa.

    Spence has been dreadful lately. Really poor. I like the lad but we shouldn’t go overboard on him. On Udogie, he’s still a young lad. He has the ability and I think he’ll bounce back. Playing full back under Ange is very difficult. Son is on the decline and should probably not be a starter...

    That’s as optimistic a prediction as I’ve seen to be honest. I could see us losing if we were playing any other team but Southampton are abysmal. I’ll regret this at 4pm tomorrow but I do think we’ll win.
