Shame about Kulu. Leaves us short of creativity with zero attacking options on the bench. We have been dealt a hard blow by the World Cup. Richi and Bentancur out injured and Diers loss of form. We really need Son to start performing in the first half today. No excuses. COYS

City away last season was probably Kane's best game for us. He basically beat them single handedly.

    Priority positions this window

For me, in order 1. Centre back. We can improve on both Dier and Davies/Lenglet 2. A new attacker. When Kulunwas out and with Lucus unavailable, we really looked lightweight there 3 Right wingback. We have three arm. One is not a wingback, one is inconsistent and one the manager for some...

I agree a midfield three isn't necessarily the answer, but with Son so ineffective especially in the first half, an extra body in there should give us more control, an extra man and more defensive solidity.

But when balls are hoofed up, Kane doesn't get them at his feet. Son has been appalling at hold up play and even worse this season when he seems to lose every ball played up to him..

We get pressed in defence AND our midfield get smothered (often because they are outnumbered) . Consequently the only option is to go long, which is when we lose possession.in the first half against Brentford, the balls were often under hit and too short ( especially to Kulu) thus enabling...

That's just not right. We get pressed to death in the first half so our defenders hoof it long. That is when Son and Kane lose possession.

How can holding the ball up well be a quick fix? It isn't the strength of Son or Kane.

We hardly create anything in first halves. Defense can't withstand the press, we are outnumbered in midfield and Kane and Son can't hold the ball up. Other than that, it's hunky dory.

And how has that gone so far this season? Conceded first in 9 ( yes nine) cosective games! We really need to sort out our first half performances as our top priority.

From the bench for me. We should start 3 in midfield. Add Bentancur to Biss and PEH and we should be really solid defensively. If Conte doesn't fancy a three, then I would start Gil and save Son for when the game opens up. I think he would be dynamite from the bench (see Leicester for example)

    ** OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v Brentford **

The main problem it seems to me is that we don't have a target man who can hold the ball up. Toney did this excellently for Brentford but Kane hardly ever wins a header against centre halves in build up play so we can't play long as it just makes us give up possession. And when Kane does manage...

FT 2-2. Dire first half. Better second half. Overall deserved to win. Dier and Tanganga dire. Son non existent. Conte too late with obvious subs again.

Son has been poor again. Don’t know why Gil wasn’t given 15 minutes

Could have had 3 pens and a sending off. Not getting the run of the refs decisions here.

1-2 Kane. Great header from a super Lenglet cross.

0-2. Dier sliced it out for a needless corner. An easy well worked corner. Poor defending again.
