If anything has been made clear since Oct 7th, it's that a 2 state solution will never be possible.

That would have to be judged on a case by case basis. Mostly people travelled through the area, rather than being settled there. People can still travel through the area, although the barbaric treatment of Israeli civilians obviously makes that far more difficult. A political party.

Have you been to Ireland or Australia? Outside of the cities I'd describe both as empty too. Israel was recognised as a state in 1948 (but I'm sure you knew that), Palestine self-declared as (but still isn't) one in 1988.

The PLO declared Palestine a state and they're terrorists.

That was the largest displacement at the time. If you'd like me to list all the times Jews were displaced then I probably can, but I don't think you need me to.

It doesn't belong to anyone, there isn't a country there. It's just an area claimed as a state by a terrorist group.

Now imagine it's not your home and it's somewhere you sometimes travel through - like J13 on the M25. Not quite the same, is it?

I love in a city that's been reasonably heavily populated since Roman times.

None whatsoever. But an ethnic group who have been hounded out of Europe deserve a place to live. If they'd wanted to live in Alaska or North Wales, or any other undeveloped land then I'd have supported that. They wanted to live where they were originally forced from and that's fine by me.

I don't think there's any solid religious basis for Jewish people being there. There's no solid religious basis for anything as it's all made up. That doesn't mean that Jewish people didn't or shouldn't have the right to create a country there. Especially not if the area is almost empty and...

I've had this discussion here before and possibly with you. I've posted the population per km² and contrasts that to places that are populated. If that area meant so much before Israel was there, why did so few people live there? If it meant souch before Israel, why was it an undeveloped brickhole?

Hamas is already rebuilding, it was a huge mistake to stop before they were completely destroyed. Unfortunately, most of the West doesn't have the stomach for what needs to be done. I do think Israel should be a part of the rebuild but they can't be all the time Hamas are around. I suggest...

It's about putting them in what was essentially a wasteland until Israel developed it into something habitable. It's about putting them in land that nobody wanted until some people decided they didn't want Jewish people to have it because their imaginary friend doesn't like them.

Israel will engage as soon as the attacks and the rockets stop. If their neighbours can't act like civilised human beings then why would Israel treat them as such?

I didn't expect any kind of gotcha, just curious as to whether it's only Jewish people you don't want to have a home.

    Heathrow expansion

That's a perfect example of too much intervention. Banks should have been allowed to fail, they should have had to make their liquidity ratios public and allow people to choose where to put their money. Govts propping them up meant that their behaviour hasn't improved and won't because...
