We are delighted to announce that Lucas Bergvall has signed a new contract with the Club.
Regarded as one of the best young midfielders in Europe, Lucas already has 80 appearances in all competitions for us under his belt and 14 senior international caps for Sweden, including history-making appearances at this summer's World Cup - all at the age of 20.
Lucas said: "I think we're building something great here. It's an exciting time for the Club and that's why I'm happy to extend my contract.
"I'm always trying to achieve as much as possible, to be the best version of myself both on and off the pitch and I know this is the right place to do that.
"Personally, my goal is to produce more for the team - performances, goals and assists - to help as much as I can. I'm getting better every day in training and I'm looking forward to what will be a really good season ahead."

Born in Stockholm, Lucas began his career at IF Brommapojkarna (BP) in the Superettan, the second tier of Swedish football, and featured 11 times as BP gained promotion to the Allsvenskan in 2022.
His performances caught the eye of clubs across Europe but he opted to stay in Stockholm and join his brother, Theo, at Djurgarden. He progressed again during the 2023 season, playing 25 out of 30 games as his side finished fourth in Sweden’s top flight.
Signed from Djurgarden in February, 2024, before arriving in north London five months later, the midfielder made a superb start to his Spurs career with 45 appearances in all competitions in his debut campaign - his performances capped off with a hat-trick of Player of the Season awards in May, 2025.
By then, he'd also added a UEFA Europa League medal to his collection although, sadly, injury ruled him out of the final in Bilbao having featured in 12 of the 14 games in the competition up to then.
Lucas was there again at the start of his second season, featuring in the UEFA Super Cup in August, 2025, and scoring a memorable header in our 3-0 win at West Ham the following month. He added another 33 appearances to his tally in 2025/26.
In March, he was part of the Sweden team that qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a dramatic play-off win against Poland. The midfielder then made history when he stepped off the bench against Tunisia in the finals, becoming the youngest Swedish player to appear at a World Cup. He featured as a substitute against Tunisia, Japan and the Netherlands before his first start came against France in the Round of 32.
