I certainly remember two years ago when we only bought ONE bonafide player who would go straight into the first 11 line-up (i.e. Solanke).
At the time there were a lot of rumours and talk here and elsewhere about how we went that route (i.e. not really backing Ange with more first-team acquisitions to push on from 5th, which even though our form in the last 3 months of the 23-24 season was absolutely dreadful, we only missed out on CL by 2 points) so as "not to block the paths of the great youngsters coming through" etc.
Well....

I think people are also conflating different opinions on youth and applying them to all youth players like everyones said the same thing about everyone of them, when they haven't.
Comments and sniping coming after Dorrington leaves like anyone has even mentioned him in like 6 months being an example

There's a way to do both. We should have moved on Solanke and Danso, rather than Lankshear and Vuskovic. Bring those best two U21s into our tight 25 man squad.

Loaned: Abbott, Souza, Moore, Donely, Devine
Sold: Dorrington, Phillips, Takai, Yang

I like to think Bergvall is staying as very good back up alternatives for Tonali and Fernandes with Gray and we are looking to sell Bentancur and Sarr, that would make more sense to me.......I know I know I am not RDZ and what he thinks is all that matters.......
