Depends on what the obligation is really.

Coming of the ACL and not playing his value is really low so this is probably best we could get.
I fully expected we'd have to loan him out until his contract expired, mate. To get close to £15m for him is good business.

On the obligation, I think there's a difference between that and an option to buy - obligation means you will trigger it come what may, it's just shifted to the next year for accounts purposes. Option means you have the power to trigger it subject to certain criteria - it's rare those end up being triggered, for us anyway.

That's how I've always understood it, at least.

Yeh just depends that the obligation is. Suggestion from Gold in that tweet is number of games. Let’s hope it’s realistic.

Didn’t Harvey Elliot have an obligation where Villa pay £40M if he played 10 games and Emery couldn’t play him cos they are poor brummies with no Beyoncé concerts.

This is a deal Levy would have never done by the way. He would want the transfer fee for him and then on August 30th take a loan with no obligation. We saw that with Solomon & Gil as examples.

Deal agreed with Fiorentina, loan with obligation to buy. 1.5m euros for the loan, 17.5m for obligation apparently. Di Marzio and Romano both confirming.

Good deal, and good luck to the lad - injuries ruined any chances he had with us, but I still feel there's a decent player there, just one with rotten luck and who suffered in the chaos that was Tottenham Hotspur these past two seasons.
nah, he's just brick. from his first appearance at fulham to the end, cant think of a single solid game from him

The Cycle

1) Spurs sign a player for modest money and everyone gets excited that they're the next best thing since sliced bread
2) Said player spends a couple of underwhelming seasons in our own squad, and we realise we made a mistake buying them
3) We can't find buyer so we end up loaning them out for a season in the hope we can then shift them
4) We finally sell them 3 or 4 seasons after they first joined.
5) We then bring in some money and go back to 1

Now the big question becomes whether we will stop this nonsense under the new leadership group. It's been going on for years and years under Levy and ENIC.

He's not brick. It's just yet another example of our poor recruitment purchasing a centre back not suited to playing in a high line. He was very good in Italy and was getting rave reviews for the national team.

He will go back to Italy and be a success, just like Vicario will....

I blame the tactics not the recruitment

forget high line - he cant defend a cross, pass, inept awareness, slow, poor decision making.
