***OMT - Tottenham Hotspur FC v Everton, Sun May 24th, 4.00pm, The Lane***

Imagine going 2 or 3 goals up. What joy and merriment would ensue in yonder hostelry across the adjacent thoroughfare.
I've thought about this. Imagine coming out of the blocks and going a couple of goals up and having a nice relaxed afternoon enjoying our first win at home in over 5 months.

Unlikely though. Everton are awkward and these relegation battles tend to have some swings or the threat of swings on the last day.

And even if we did get 2 or 3 up, we'll still be bricking it unless West Ham are 2 or 3 down at the same time. If the inverse happens, fudge me, the journey home on Sunday will be absolutely horrific.

Yeah, we don't do easy and relaxed. And I honestly don't envy you attending this match. The stress levels would do me in. Actually, they are beginning to rise just thinking about the scenario you describe.

I need to go to my happy place ( .....we just got a 4th goal in the 60min....ahhhhh..... and relax)

I admire some of the optimism on here already but I dont really feel very positive.....

As for the team, I would pick this line up... Nobody else will agree ,and certainly the manager won't, but im old enough amd ugly enough to be shot down in flames....

Kinksky

Porro Danso VDV Udogie

And now the interesting bit.....

Paulinha Bentancur

Spence. Tel

Bergvall. Gray.

So a bit of a 4-2 - 2 -2.... But keep it very compact and not too much space between the lines...

Muani is usless .

Richarlison cant trap a bag of cement.

I have no faith left in either of them...

And I was disappointed with Gallaghers total lack of imagination on tuesday.

So I feel that the above system would allow us to keep the ball a lot better and Bergvall and Gray have nice touches, a bit of flair, will be well away from the defence ( so not making costly mistakes) and run around a lot...

That still leaves lots of options on the bench

If we dont concede we stay up..

Come on you beautiful Spurs - whatever team starts!

Lovely the terminology on Richarlsons ability, had a coach who use to say "you couldn't trap a box of kippers" he was a "Geordie" and had lots of weird sayings and nicknames for the players the best was a player he called Biffo Gazelle.

I think i am going to put my phone on airplane mode and go for a long run/cycle on Sunday, and just accept whatever the outcome is at full time.

I've planned a "Sundioke" for Cancer Research on Sunday. I play keys and my mate plays guitar. We've got a setlist of 200 songs where anyone can choose from the list and pay to come and sing or play with us. We're doing 2-4pm and then watching the game. We're then back on the instruments until we decide enough is enough.

Gonna be a crazy day.

Would love to hear whether everyone else is going to be on Sunday. Anything to distract from the actual game itself right?

Whatever happens, I probably won't be posting on here until Sunday night or Monday but I'd like to echo @harr1984's sentiment: this place has been one of the few bright spots in a season absolutely riddled with disappointment and, sometimes, despair.

I'm a very occasional poster if not a lurker on here but it feels like there's been a lot less bickering than it used to (particularly last season) - just a bunch of sad people trying to make sense of a very unfortunate or unfair situation. Supporting Spurs can't have been good for anybody's mental health this season, but reading a good joke, an insightful comment or even a pep talk is enough sometimes to dispel the 'doom and gloom' even if only for a moment.

I don't think I can wish anyone a happy Sunday but I do hope we will all feel relieved once the season is over. See you there and thanks to everyone who carried on with this board through the dark times!

I watched Sunderland Vs Everton the other day, and I’m fairly sure (I could look it up but meh…) that Everton are the team who have conceded the most goals in the 75th+ minute this season (which they did again vs Sunderland) So one thing that is absolutely imperative this weekend is the players giving it their all to the end.

That sounds like the most obvious thing in the world, but you can basically guarantee that on Sunday, Everton will score first and this will be followed by a West Ham goal, this is why heads simply cannot drop if it happens.

I shall be enjoying the sun with a G & T. They are not gonna ruin my weekend.

In all honesty I will be Leeds fan hoping they will want to finish on a high. Have more faith in them getting a result than us at this present moment

You should shift that starting time out a couple of hours.
