And we still dont kick up enough of a fuss.
We really dont have the mentality to be what it takes to be fighters and having a winning mindset consistently.
We are where we are because of yrs of neglect. The losing mindset began last season in the league and thats a hard thing to reverse. I still think if we managed just 2 more wins or finished 14th. Ange may have stayed. But old news. He still would have been sacked cos thats what we do.
what Jose said was not wrong
100%.It blows my mind that even now - after an entire season of getting shafted nearly every week - we aren’t applying pressure to the PGMOL, EPL and FA regarding the absurdity of decisions going against us. There are now FIVE high profile ‘2-handed push’ incidents and every single one has gone against us. Four of those lead to goals (two disallowed for us, two allowed for opponents) and the fifth to two injured spurs players. Ergo, they have a demonstrably direct effect on the games.
It’s such a shame that as a fanbase we can’t do anything to apply pressure but there you go.

I don’t think there’s an actual agenda against us, I just think we’re seen as an easy touch by the refs and PGMOL. They know we never kick up a fuss as a club or a fan base in general really and we have literally zero “friends” in the commentary box or pundits studio, so the frankly ridiculous decisions we’ve been on the end of never get the attention they merit on tv. So refs feel no pressure to give decisions our way.It baffles me to see our fans (on here as well) go "naaah, fellas... there's no agenda against us".
I mean it's pretty fudging clear if you ask me. And it's not new this season either, but now we are so brick we are actually getting relegated because of it

That Sunderland refs performance was scandalous, yet nothing from the commentators, in fact, Don Goodman said the ref had done well….

A club with some backbone and leadership - https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/72...unlocked_article_code=1.elA.kqYj.5ivya2dC_8M5
You are. If he gave a corner though he would have had to give a penAm I correct in saying they didn't even get a corner?
brobbery two handed shove in romero's back for sure
we should do it to the opponent next time that ref is on the pitch
Completely the same. I didn’t even celebrate the Romero equaliser as I was still seething. Didn’t watch any football for about three months as that was the moment I realised refereeing is flimflam and they’re making it up as they go alongI’ve just seen the ten minute compilation going around of all the bad calls we’ve faced this season. In that video some are definitely worse than others, but there are a few in there that are an absolute disgrace and I genuinely don’t think other clubs have had to deal with the same level of horrendous decision making.
The Bentancur penalty against Saudi Sportswashing Machine very nearly made me give up watching Premier League football. I was stunned into silence they gave it. I thought I was in a dream or watching some different sport. Completely mental.

Back into it a bit more now, mainly due to the relegation battle but still haven’t watched a non spurs match since that bentancor pen
I think every club has its fair share of bad decisions but they also get their fair share of lucky ones too. I genuinely can’t think of any decisions that have gone our way this season that aren’t factual ie offsides. Perhaps that’s confirmation bias but I don’t think it isI hear you. That one, when none of the players on the Saudi Sportswashing Machine side were even expecting it, and when we have VAR to right obvious wrongs, the fact that it was still given is a complete disgrace. I also don’t think it has been spoken about enough in the general football media. It sort of gets brushed off as a ‘all teams suffer, luck evens itself out over the course of the season’ thing. But I can’t recall ever seeing anything like that. Just a disgrace.
The push on Romero not a foul, push on Gabriel is a foul, push on Dragusin not a foul insanity is also just completely ridiculous. We are not a serious sport when we have actual current refs coming out defending their mates and saying one week ‘there’s two hands on the back, it’s a clear push’ and the next week just letting it slide. Again, a disgrace.
I usually roll my eyes at conspiracy talk as it relates to our club. But I truly do not believe other clubs have had the amount of poor decisions that we’ve had to deal with this season. The level of inconsistency that is applied to always harm us and benefit our opposition has been incredible to see.
I don't think there's a conspiracy, it really makes no sense. I do believe no referee wants to be seen to be part of a conspiracy to keeps us up. It's why so we are on the wrong side of pretty much any borderline decision, so when it goes to VAR they won't overturn it. Then there are decisions such as the Bentancur one at Saudi Sportswashing Machine which are down to pure incompetence. Shove in a bunch of hideous luck, injuries and lack of technical ability I think we are doing well to be above Wolves and Burnley.I hear you.
