Incredible win from England today

Won by 342 runs !!

Bethell/Root brilliant 100's and Archer, what a spell

If he can play 4/5 tests in the Ashes, we have a huge huge chance to win them

Coming to an end this summer

Richie was a great bloke met him a few times, the best TV commentator no bias from him he loved the game and the way it should be played, one of Australia's best captain and not a bad player.

Only one warm up game before the 1st test when our last test was in July
Have we not learnt our lessons from previous Ashes tours when we're so undercooked going into the 1st test

Warm-Up Match

England will play one three‑day red‑ball warm‑up match against the England Lions. This match is scheduled at Lilac Hill (Midland Guildford Cricket Club) in the eastern suburbs of Perth, starting in early November 2025—just before the first Test. Reuters+15ESPN Cricinfo+15ESPN Cricinfo+15

Ashes Test Series Schedule

The five‑match Ashes Test series will be held across five iconic Australian venues:

These dates cover the period from 21 November 2025 to 8 January 2026 cricket.com.au.

Notably, this marks a departure from tradition: Perth will host the opening Test for the first time in over 40 years, instead of the usual Gabba opener

You've got to appreciate that Test cricket is a bloody nuisance to crash bang cricket and the money rules along with the ICC. Gone are the days of a couple of warm up games along with 3/4 matches between test. If a batsman doesn't get in the 1st test he sits waiting for injuries or heavy defeat before he gets a game.

It.is but I guarantee the Aussies will be playing shield cricket before. They play County before a series over here, to a man, we don't take the same advantage and we always look under cooked

Somerset just beat Lancashire in a strange game- Lancs tactically retired out Balderson and the guy who came in to replace him was out first ball.
I presume @Daisuk wil be settling in to watch the final later.

You was lucky with one of the four days a year it doesn't rain in Manny
Even unluckier that I'm away from Glasgow on one of its three dry days a year!
I got a few funny looks wandering around the Trafford centre with my new t shirt on.
Not sure why.

For me it looks like they are going in with Bethell instead of Pope, he can bowl as can Root
Brook being VC allows them to drop Pope now, think that would be the right decision based on the last 3(?) years form.

I’m not sold on Bashir though and felt it would have been a good opportunity to give Ahmed a tour at a young age and maybe play the odd game depending on form. At least he’s a spinner who can actually spin it..

For me Ahmed would have been the one, he is a really decent bat too
