Which other players do you have emotional affinity to? Because to me those are the two who care far more than any of the others do. The ones whose wills drove us over the EL winning line
 
Richarlson has had some real bad luck on the injury and personal side. He has ability but is not fit enough to get a run in the side. Great attitude and will work his socks off but sadly it seems he will never be a regular player. Probably time to move him on.

the ball going in the net is nearly always the inevitable conclusion of an action performed elsewhere, the goal is the change in the weather, not the flap of the butterfly's wings
 
If we could get 40-50m in total for both Son and Richie I think that is, on balance, the best thing to do. Both are almost certain to diminish in value from now on.

Add 20m to that and we have a 60-70m budget for a single replacement for both.
Don't ask who though. No clue!

That applies to everyone on the pitch that night - it was a terrible game of football.
Richi was brilliantly effective - but it wasn't a high bar. He did what we needed.

He's definitely not a player I want to keep around though. Never has been, still isn't.
 
Simply put, he has to score goals. I do appreciate the build-up aspects of his game most of the time, but it is true that sometimes his control is a little loose. It's the consistency though, as he is capable of interchanging well and keeping the ball moving or winning 50/50 duels.

The chances he had from our corners were gilt; he needed to put that header in where he smashed the woodwork from maybe not even one yard out.

Just seems to be customary to brick on some of our players. I think criticism is definitely warranted for how he played today, but it's hard to take any opinions seriously when they're so hyperbolic or lacking in even the slightest of nuance.
