( . Y . ) Tottenham v Chelsea | OMT ( . Y . )

I think part of the statistics is fooling us. A lot of shots are taken from outside the area, yet they will be compared with shots in the area. There should be a separate category for 'dangerous shot' or 'shot outside the area'. Who would set the rules for which is why is open to debate. But it's like if we have ten half chances, including shots from outside the area, and the opponents have three one-on-one chances then of course it is likely that the opponents can score more/equal with less shots.

That can alter perception of our Wembley games. We seemed to have a lot of shots from outside the area yesterday. So smaller percentage to score.

Oh and as for our corners. I read an interesting statistic earlier. Only 12% of corners lead to a shot on goal. Only 2% are scored. So maybe not so surprising that our corners were mostly crap yesterday.
It's called xG and the rules have already been set. :p

See where you coming from but IMHO Hazard is truly world class, Luiz is a very good player also. Mahrez is an excellent player who I would love at Spurs. Form goes up and down you are as good as your last game which is a little harsh on some. Last season is history!
Yesterday we were about 70% fitness as a team with Wanyama and to lesser extent Trippier not fit.
Nothing wrong with our team when EVERYBODY is at it, with no basic errors!

Hazard can't be world class as he hasn't been consistent imo. That season he dissapeared showed him up for me

Luiz was the player if the season for me and was the glue that held them together

The more I think about what we need the more I come back to Mahrez now as gettable and a game changer. One who could come on and make the opposition think

Thanks for the reply, 4 hours after I replied about it. ;) It's good to see that statistic, its more appropriate to determine the likely domination of a match, rather than just casual shots tallies which mean very little on their own. And yes, I know that one team can be defending all game, concede only one shot of note, and then attack and have that golden chance themselves but then that in itself shows the team with most possession did little to merit a win as they were stifled by the defensive play of the opponents. The opponents had earned a draw albeit by parking the bus.

Nor longer term I wouldn't think. There are not too many better than Lloris and certainly none that we could attract IMO.

Everytime I see Neuer play he fudges up at least once. Mistakes happen all the time even to best of them. I'd like to see Lloris retire as a Spurs legend.

I've said for some time I'd like butland

Hugo is brilliant and in the top 2 in the keague with de Gea but he isn't getting better

Butland is getting better and is young enough to step with the big boys

A couple of points that haven't been made

Dier and Verts and Luiz and others were on yellow cards... but people say Dier had to go off because he was on a yellow. Is he that feisty?

The pitch was dry, the ball wasn't zipping around... could people see if the grass was longer / was the pitch heavily watered before the game?

Hugo should have been kinda like this... legs fairly close together and arms ready... so he can kick or parry with his hands. There is no time / no need to dive out of the way and get down like he tried

Did you not see the 2 for 1 tackle that got him the card? It was a physical game, I wouldn't have been surprised if either side had lost a man to a card.

Hugo was stuck between covering the cross (which would have been the more likely option for Alonso 9 times out of 10) and the near post shot ..

Split second choice between saving with his hands (his go to) or his feet, he chose wrong ... it happens ..

It can't be a coincidence that we lost again in this manner.
Played well for the majority of the game and lost to a free kick.
Is it naivety by poch and the lads ? We were lacking the ability to stretch them out wide, poch's fave way with speedy fullbacks if down the middle doesnt work

Hazard in a heartbeat

Agree with the rest
