Danny Rose

He wants the money end of. Probably can't take the *bants* from walker.

Im sorry danny, fans were not that into you when you first signed as you were bang average.

If you were that great back then i didn't see the likes of man u or city etc after you then.

Honestly you don't owe us anything so if you want to go just say so.

Before poch people outside our club had to Google your name too.

Fosu Mensa and Rasford straight swap.

I love your posts usually, but I could not disagree with you more mate. Until Poch showed up, he was bog average and teetering on disastrous.

No worries mate...I love your posts too mate.

I understand people's anger I really do but it's better this way and I don't think a player should be crucified for having an opinion and being honest with us the fans even though he chooses that horrible newspaper in which to do it.

How many times do players lie to us telling us what we want to hear??? And then we feel the outrage when they do the dirty on us.

I get we can't compete with the doped clubs...but I understand his views that our players are not paid their worth...I understand when he talks about small signings where you have to use google.

I don't hate levy...I understand he is what he is and does what he does. But this summer I am frustrated with us not getting Toby sorted and lurking in the shadows regarding signings...

Levy knows he's there to be shot at and he's accountable more than most.

Also think back to comments on here when rose got a red against villa...last game of the season a few years back...if we as fans can give it I suppose we have to learn to take it back. Look at lamelas history...even Kane was championship standard.

I suggest this unrest is present in our squad...more than just Rose...is it not better to deal with it now?

I'm still in love with Rose's rocket against scum I suppose...

Sorry people for that alone I struggle to be tinkled with him.

Don't think anyone can disagree with some of his points but seriously he sounds like he is throwing his dummies out for not getting a move like his good mate kyle.

Just hand in a transfer request, don't be scared of the backlash by using the press to encourage a bid from up north.

So people are angry with him because he's right?

We under pay our players (money in football is hideous) compared to what they could get and we need game changing signings

I imagine we won't see him again after this. I also doubt he is alone in this thinking.

All sensible stuff but really not what you should be saying in the media before the start of the season (at all even)

Like I've said previously people have their heads in the clouds if they think signing minimal players promoting youth and expecting Dier to cover half the positions on the pitch is going to keep our stars happy - ambitious players won't want to slip down the league because of a lack of (perceived) investment.

Completely. I've been banging on all summer about our need for 3-4 signings and given it's frustrating me that we're 2 days before the season starts and haven't signed anyone then it's understandable that it's also frustrating the players. As you say, top players want to win things and to see us standing still or being linked with unheard of players doesn't exactly match their ambitions, especially whilst everyone else is strengthening - even f******g Leicester spent £25m on Iheanacho.

So people are angry with him because he's right?

No, I'm not - you, me and a couple others have been saying for weeks we need signings despite most on here being happy with zero or 1 incoming. I don't like th way he's made his comments but can understand the frustration overspilling.

I'm a big Levy fan and he's done a huge amount for the club but this lack of activity is a result of his brinkmanship games - leaving it til late and hoping the other side blink. I can see us not signing what we need and getting the usual tripe message from Levy about the players not being available

This is the moment that many had predicted. The moment that self interest overcomes team spirit. Levy and Pochettino, too, will have known this day would come. I doubt they are that worried. Players come. Players go.

As for Rose, he is more articulate than most footballers but he is being disingenuous. The club's management is not the real issue. Earning more money is. Simple as that.

He will go. On the last day of the window. For a world record fee (for a defender). And still injured.

Let's not forget this is Danny Rose. A good and much improved footballer. But just that. He will be remembered like BAE, Ziege and Atouba. (slightly tongue in cheek)

You can't really blame this on the media, though I know it's convenient to do so.

We all trsut Poch. He's also said we need 'a few' (his words) signings this window to add more depth. Everyone else is signing players, yet there's 3 weeks left in the window and we have done anything yet. We've never got to our first game without signing anyone. I can see us getting to the 31st having signed a 3rd choice GK and being told that the players weren't available. We're on the verge on something special but can't do that with a threadbare squad and relying on kids and Dier to cover everyone

100% behind you on this. fudge the disruptors. If you can't see we're going on the right direction and want to be part of that, then fudge right off.

One of the dumb things about Rose's interview is that I believe he lacks belief in himself or Spurs. He only remembers the fans that insulted him - what of the ones who stood by and defended him. He doesnt remember those?

Its OK that these are rose's personal opinions, that's fine, obviously, but for him to actively go to a newspaper to spout this brick is bordering on treason. He knows fully well the brickstorm this will cause, and he does it for a reason, and that reason is to help himself and not Tottenham Hotspur, so he can fudge right off, in my opinion.

No issue with what he's said, it's nothing nobody already knows and I'd rather players spoke their mind rather than lying through their teeth at least we know where we stand. Oh and he won't be going anywhere....

Wasn't there a story over the summer that Poch was agreeable to selling both Walker and Rose but Levy baulked at the message selling both would send out? If true, Rose probably feels aggrieved that he has missed out on a 'big' move. Tough.

Whilst Rose is clearly speaking out of frustration it's not as if he has got a bit carried away in an interview. The interview would appear to have been set up for the very purpose of voicing these views - i.e. setting out to be deliberately provocative and to antagonise Levy/Poch. I can't feel happy with any of our players doing that, whatever the motivation.
He must have previously aired his views to Poch so this is now laying down the gauntlet, very publicly.

The message is clear (in my reading) : buy some big name players and I'll stick around for another season. After that, I'm off, regardless.

The irony is that he complains that he is not paid what he is worth and that we should bring in some big name players. I don't think anyone would argue that keeping players under our current wage structure is challenging to say the least and that higher wages are deserved. But those big name players he wants will expect big wages - which could well come at the expense of improving the wages of some current 1st team players.

Rose missed the last 3 and a bit months of the season. We missed a lot of his attributes on the pitch - but still finished second with the best defensive record. We managed without him. Ultimately no player is indispensable, not even Harry Kane (although him more so than most). Danny, you want players who have to challenge the incumbent in their position? Well, Ben Davies is the incumbent LB. so get fit, and challenge him for your place. Or hand in a transfer request. I don't want him to leave. But equally I want him to want to play for my club.

It will be interesting to see whether he does knuckle down (and with a World Cup coming up he has the motivation) and the extent to which his relationship with Poch is damaged by his comments. We know Poch doesn't like insubordination. Will Danny be forgiven or will Poch dig his heels in?
Whatever, we don't need this 4 days ahead of the first game of the season.

Or perhaps part of the reason he went to a paper was because he wasn't happy with the way the club has asked players recently to say publicly that we dont need any signings - Danny referred to that in his article. Having our players say that we dont need signings effectively justifies the club not making any....yet Poch says we need a few.

Something like this was always going to happen this window given how unconventional not signing anyone is

Doesn't matter, in my opinion. It's the signal it sends, and the ensuing brickstorm the media no doubt will throw about. It's good for Danny rose and him only, not the club. And he must know this, unless he's mentally challenged.

Rose calls a spade a spade. And it stings like a bitch. Timing is awful. But he did warn them he wanted proper signings at start of summer and not the usual brick.

In two years time he may still have nothing by playing for spurs. But Shareholders in spurs will be adding another billion to their asset wealth in some cases, a long way from the paltry millions they initially invested. Does anyone actually think that Toby and Jan give a fudge about playing in Londons premier entertainment bowl vs medals.

I'm with Daniel and Joe on this, as most here are. We've got a lotta of catching up to do first. But as much as it stings, if we don't pull a rabbit from a hat to distract footballers whom are mostly excited by new shiny things. This might be the beginning of the end of this team. Hands up who didn't think it would be rose/Lamella to initiate bad mouthing.

Rightly tinkled this morning. I think Pooch and Levy will turn this around quickly

Well, if I got paid 100k a week and my employer told me not to publicly discuss its financial dealings (or lack of), which were none of my business anyway, I'd respect that. Is there any proof that the club has actively asked our players to go out in the media and say we don't need to sign anyone? I highly doubt it.

And, the transfer window is still open. Poch is talking about signing up to four new players. People are getting ahead of themselves.
