The Lane, The Finale

Someone on here said they should do a ticker tape parade like Argentina back in the 80s, for Poch, Ossie, Ricky (and Treacle). Looked great.

I thought it was classy. Sky said it was a real touch of class with the gospel choir and opera, very classy compared to what it could have been.

I thought Adele was going to be wheeled out?

I honestly wanted Chas and Dave.

But, you know what, it doesn't matter.

It was simple. It was emotional. And, in the end, it will always be defined by the image of that vibrant rainbow appearing over a golden Lane. As the flags flew, the ticker tape fluttered, the fans roared, the choir sang, the players soaked in the love and the admiration...a rainbow appeared, high over the golden arches and the badger standing proudly above a century of history.

It defined what White Hart Lane meant. I couldn't ask for more than that.

i think its exactly the right time to be moving on into the new ground. This squad/team is young, exciting, getting better and better, they are the chosen ones to carry the club into our bright new future at the new White Hart Lane. They have all the ability to start filling the new ground with thrilling moments and more importantly some much anticipated trophies

I thought Sky's coverage today was superb. A fitting tribute to the legends and individuals who graced the Old Lady. Really emotional.

Onwards and (hopefully) upwards. Second in the PL and an FA cup semi finalist. So near. Let's hope Poch can find the right couple of pieces to complete the jigsaw next season.

I assume that Chas Hodges isn't well enough to perform at the moment

I read they performed at half time? Maybe not.

Perfect ending. Win. A bit of rain, a bit of sun, a rainbow. The ending ceremony not too long or over the top. Just about right.

Sad to see the stadium go, but we'll still be at the lane, and as I've said before, visually the new stadium will have more in common with the current lane than the current lane had with the lane of the 60's and so on.

It might very well still feel like the lane. So fudging good that we're staying put. Love it. :D

Well that was just a brilliant ending. I don't know how well it would have come across on tv but in the ground it was joyful and sad and solemn and uplifting all mixed up together.
A lump in the throat and watering eyes at times, but I have left a place full of many happy memories and when I return to the new stadium those memories will still be there, with new ones to be created.

The pitch invasion looked magnificent looking down for the PL Upper.

Now where can I buy the DVD? :)

Definitely going to be using Go Compare instead of Compare the meerkat from now on lol!

But on a serious note what an amazing day and fantastic send off.

Very proud to be Spurs!
