I know what you mean mate. I do agree. But over the course of the 2 legs, I can't say there was anything particularly wrong with it considering the chances they missed.

For instance, would you say we should have changed our tactics v Chelsea at the Bridge this year when we should have definitely won considering the chances we wasted? I would say the players really should have made the most of those chances that we created.

Sure, but once again, the point is, Barca were almost totally one-dimensional tonight, whereas even poor old Spurs could attack from left, right AND center at SB.

We all know they wont, but our players should look at this result and think.... 'F#ck me, we really need to finish 3rd now, lets go out there and win all 4 games and see where it leaves us'

As opposed what we know will probably be the attituide 'Ah well, if Spurs do finish 4th They'll probably have to play in the Europa League now, not that I'm bothered I'm off anyway in Summer!' ](*,)

i thought they mixed it up at times....they dont just tippy tap it and play thru the middle, they also get the ball wide and put plenty of crosses in, both on the ground and in the air.

WHAT?????????

Nearly every time the ball went out wide, they cut it back to the center.
Me and my kids commented on it constantly sitting here. My youngest is a big Barca fan (after Spurs) but he could see it, and my eldest who is a pretty damn good full-back for his age kept saying the Chelsea FBs just wern't being troubled.

But through their '1 dimensional' play they missed a pen, hit the post, missed a few one on ones... The chances were there. If Chelsea played like that v Spurs I do wonder how we would have got on.

Football died a little tonight just as it did when Greece won the Euros.

Imagine how sick Luka must be feeling huh.

Not saying that, Diego. We are pointing out that Barca constantly tried just one way of getting through, despite thye number of times the Chelsea defence stopped them in their tracks.

Actually thought Barca tried two ways. Alves crossing which didn't work at all, as Barca are all midgets, and they also tried to play through them which sort of worked occasionally. What I was surprised at was the lack of outside shots they tried.

Absolutely, but no matter how many chances, they didn't convert for one reason or another. And that is when you need to mix it up.

I say again, 95% of Barcas play was trying to walk it through the middle, and ultimately, they failed.

When your one on one or taking a penalty, I don't understand what "mixing it up" can possibly do?!

they never got in behind (obviously difficult with Chelsea's deep line, not that they were prepared to let chelsea out to try and make space anyway) and they never got into a one on one situation, considering how much of the ball they had, thats amazing

Sorry if this has been covered but shouldn't Drogba have seen a 2nd yellow for the deliberate handball? I don;t think it would have affect the final outcome of the game but I would have laugh. Really hard. And pointed.

Chelsea were superb defensively. A italian kind of performance.

Some great performers out there, such as drogba who is one of the best players around, ivanovic, cech, ramires, and ashley cole wasnt bad either.
