Poch seems to have seen enough from Bielsa's videos to say he wants him bought. That's good enough for me

My original point was that it will likely take him 12 months to get up-to-speed, not that he won't get there eventually. So a bit like Son and Njie have been doing this season.

Every player we buy should be able to put pressure on one of our first XI players, the days when we buy purely squad players has to be over (barring back up GK) players need to be pushed.

Either good enough to put pressure on our first XI players or young players with the talent to develop into players capable of real quality. Either is absolutely fine.

Possibly, but he is much more a CF than those two. Someone like him from the bench yesterday or even alongside Kane would probably have seen us over the line for a win (plus some other games esp Arsenal or Liverpool away for example)

I think CFs are the same exceptions as GKs. Kane needs to know he's #1 and will start all our big matches.

Having two big name/price tag CFs head-to-heading for one starting spot tends to cause more trouble than it benefits.

Premier League, CL, League Cup, FA Cup as well as international games, Kane has had a great run and absolutely is our No.1 but he will need some quality help next year.

It's more about rushing him when he's not ready, and ending up another Soldado or Forlan. There's a big risk of that when our system is so specialist/demanding. It's better to let them quietly emerge when they've properly been inducted, like e.g. Dier, Davies and Wimmer did

A £30m+ player to play early round FA, LC and CL games is maybe a tad excessive. Even Barcelona only have Sandro Ramirez and El Haddadi on their bench

I'm a bit unsure about the striker position. Hardly a club around that doesn't have what is essentially a back up to their first choice striker when that striker is at the level of Kane. I think we might be better of signing someone young with potential to become great rather than look to spend huge on someone close to Kane's level (and potentially fail).

Methinks people are being influenced by the fact that Kane is not injury prone like Aguero/Sturridge. We are on the verge of confirming automatic qualification to the group stage of the CL. Suppose he gets an injury that puts him out of commission for 2 months? I do not want some young buck being our main striker. Sure we have players like Son who can do a job, but they have not been able to prove they are good enough to lead the line.

We expect to challenge for the title and play CL we need more quality, the likes of Emirates Marketing Project, Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea will strengthen and we have to too

Seems completely speculative to think that Batshuayi starting instead of Son (I'm assuming you wouldn't want Lamela or Eriksen dropped) would have meant us doing better than we did with Son. Son even scored a goal...

Pochettino has us doing really well with his 4-2-3-1, but the difference maker would have been starting two strikers in one of the toughest away games of the season? Meh...

Early rounds of "CL games" what the heck are you talking about? There are 6 matches in the group stage and they are all important, what happens when Kane is injured, tired or just off form? This small mentality of having just one top striker them moaning when he is not available does my head in

Bench for me has been the big thing of late, just a lack of quality options in the midfield and forward areas.

How have we strengthened to get to where we are now? By making big money signings? Or by making smart signings at a reasonable cost and developing players and fitting them into our system?

Why change our strategy at this point? Why now is it a mistake to look for the striker version of a Alli/Dier/Wimmer type signing?

Look at some of the big money striker signings made by us and others. There's absolutely not a guarantee of success just because we spend big money. You say Son has not been able to prove that he's good enough to lead the line, that's true. And no player we can realistically sign has proved that he's a good fit with Spurs and good enough to lead the line close to Kane's level.

I most definitely wouldn't mind us signing Batshuayi or some other higher profile £20m+ striker. But I don't think it's a necessity.

Plus Leicester i think have put to bed the idea that you can never play 4-4-2 or can never play wth two strikers...two strikers is a good option to have to go 4-3-3, 4-4-2 or 4-1-2-1-2 (diamond)

What are the examples of the big time mentality club with top class strikers sitting on the bench ready to step in when the first choice gets injured? Must surely be plenty of those examples around for you to choose from...

You fail to point out that neither Son or Njie had a proper pre season last summer, nor did Lamela when we signed him. This Tottenham habit of faffing around when buying players and not getting them has a major impact in their squad intergration
