This is the START

Gutter Boy

Tim Sherwood
Today wasn't the culmination of anything, it was the start of something.

We are a new young team on the rise. Our peak will be 3-4 years in the future. Chelsea are an established streetwise team, but we are the coming force.

Remember today we played with 5 academy players, 6 English players, and with an average age of 4-5 years younger than Chelsea.

Lets make sure we get top 6 this season, and it will be in the next 2-4 years that the silverware will flow.

Sorry but you are deluded if you think this is true, until we have the money we wont be competing for trophies with any of the big(money) boys!

They have to learn how to manage a game. They were all niavity and heart not always making the right decisions on the pitch.

Marking the wide free kick like it was just an ordinary free instead of marking like it was a corner cost us. And Rose taking a quick free kick in prime Eriksen area was another wrong decision on the pitch.

Poch needs to learn to prioritise competitions and rotate properly.

But we are in a much better place than last season.

Very true. We're on a path to somewhere at least as opposed to last season. Some real promise in the side and more importantly the teams identity

Look at what Athletico or Dortmund have done over the past few years - that is our aim.

We'll only be the 6th richest club till the ground is built, but we can still win trophies by being smarter than the rest (which Poch is setting us up to be).

I don't see it like that at all. United are a mess now regardless of what they spent in the summer. Arsenal are due to collapse post Wenger. City will be starting again with a new manager in the summer.

We played a cup final & lost it without scoring or making Cech work..not sure where the progress is that you see.

That's key. It is the first time in about 25 years that I feel we are properly on the rise and heading in the right direction, rather than falling behind or at best treading water

The progress is we got to the final and now have the resilience to go toe-to-toe with the big boys. We play far more than the sum of our parts, which I never remember us doing.

And we're an incredibly young team (Chadli at 25 was our 3rd oldest player on the pitch) that is only going to get better and better

That has got to be one of the youngest ever teams to play in a Final, we are moving forward!

We got to the Final playing & beating sides worse than us. We played lower league teams for every round bar the Saudi Sportswashing Machine game. Saudi Sportswashing Machine had a poor keeper for our game & it showed.

We struggle to look like we're going to score. We huff & puff & nothing happens.

Pretty much the crutch of it, in this country as well it is even harder, in Germany or Italy is not so hard to have a good season and finish 3rd and get to a European cup final but in England there are to many clubs above us and the league makes it to hard to win in europa league.

Not that I am all doom and gloom far from it. I liked how we played in the most part today and I like our manager, if we can get rid of Paulinho, Dembele, Soldado, Townsend and ade I will be a happy man.

I was there for the Brighton match and we were not great that night against a poorish side.

And the Forest performance was far from impressive. We need a creative midfielder who can unlock defences, sadly those don't come cheap

Mourinho and his tactics are capable of blunting Bayern Munich and Barcelona. There's no shame in this. It's a huge learning experience for those boys.

Everyone always describes it as a learning experience. Please tell me, what it is that these players really learn from this.

This, Mourinho came out with two DM players, with a the main intention of nullifying Eriksen/Kane.

The fact that he felt the best team in the country that is likely to walk the PL at a canter needed to adjust that much to us, is a compliment to what Poch has done so far.

I think we will be better in the next year, we will still be disadvantaged because of fiscal doping, but we should enjoy where we are and the promise of the future.
