Tottenham Hotspur v Sheffield Utd League cup semi Final first leg

We look poor tonight. Kane has looked terrible and I don't like him on the left, Ade has also done very little and seems fairly lethargic. Walker and Davies have looked poor whilst Eriksen has been fairly anonymous. TBF Eriksen has been in the middle waving his arms at Townsend and Walker on a few occasions whilst they were playing their own game on the flank. Townsend has put in some lovely set pieces but as we have gone from being the team on the counter attack to the team attacking, his influence has waned.

Only Stambouli, Jan and Dier have really looked good tonight.

Edit: Forgot about Mason. He's done some things right, but does look off the pace and his passing has been poor.
 
Really need to try and get a foothold in the middle. Mason's taking a lot of the flak but in truth all of our midfielders looked a bit flat-footed in that first half. Hopefully we can step it up in the second.
 
Wasn't great that. Anyone surprised?

No real fluidity and we've been very slow to do everything. Davies has looked so so shaky it's untrue. Has 3 touches when he needs one. Townsend's been shown up by Campbell-Rice. Townsend just needs to do things quicker.

Mason has played a few penetrative passes with the aim of creating some space in an around the area. Eriksen not involved enough just yet.

Poor tempo overall.
 
walker needs to release the ball quicker, davies needs to prevent crosses and needs help, he is getting ZERO support. Mason should have started on the bench. Townsend needs to release the ball quicker. Kane needs to get off the wing. Eriksen needs to contribute and so does Adebayor.

Ade is bad juju for this team, bring on Ekotto who allegedly hates bad juju (lol). Seriously though; i hope United have blown their fuse and Poch blows his at halft time. (Lol)

in theory, it shouldnt. neither have a brain and they occupy eachothers space. they dont play quick enough.

I noticed this too. I started counting the number of touches our players were taking.
Walker and Townsend taking about 4-5 touches each time they get it whereas Mason and Eriksen are 2 touch players.
 
I am not even confident we will score tonight, right now the best I can see is 0-0. A clean sheet is vital to take at least something to Bramhall Lane. There certainly doesnt look 40-odd places between us in the ladder.
 
Just when I thought Poch was getting it together he puts Kane out on the left to accommodate Ade. Oh well - suppose its not like its a big game.

If we are going to insist on balls into a heavily marked Adebayor with his back to goal the other attaching players need to get closer to him.

Soldado for Kane?!!?

Think our fitness will get us goals later.
 
dembele needs to come. i'd also bringt lennon on for townsend.

really not sure about up front. kane should be playing furthest forward, but there isnt much we can do about that now.

im shocked by how many of our players struggled with the basics in that half. im still hopeful we can up the level of performance and win 2-0.
