Anyone remember that Bale chap?

What an utter load of tabloid tosh

I could understand when Sheringham, Carrick and Berbatov decided to move to England' wealthiest and (at the time) top club but why on earth would Bale leave Real Madrid for a smaller, poorer, less successful team just as he's about to come into the prime of his career?

is this another robbie keane situation where he goes to another club he "dreamed" of playing for when he was so high, "british" players don't stay long playing on the continent, expect him back sooner, rather than later

Hasn´t he on numerous occations declared Real his boyhood dream though? I very much doubt he´ll leave them anytime soon, unless Real wants to get rid. Which I don´t think they want, but then again they are a freak show of a club, so you´ll never know. I hope they keep him though, would hate to see him play for Manure or any of the financially doped PL clubs.

Big boys scratching each otheres back for FFP . 125 million, thats 40 million profit thank you.

I am a critic of Levy but I will admit he is good on the financial side and he will have made sure the was something in the sale that said we got a massive sell on fee. The were rumours of us getting 5m each for modric and bale winning the euro cup.

I would imagine Levy had every angle covered so even if Madrid decided to loan bale to man u for a couple of seasons then sell him we would still receive a payment. Levy maybe trigger happy and obsessed with the ridiculous director of football but he aint a fool when it comes to money.

I would be astonished if he managed to sting them for a world record fee, bonus money for winning the CL, and have a sell on/loan fee. Jedi mind powers would be the only explanation. Or compromising photos.

We wanted the cash up front, so I doubt that we had much room for negotiating sell on clauses.

I said from the beginning that Bale would be back in the prem sooner rather then later. He wont hang around playing second fiddle to Ronaldo.

Not a chance in hell he will leave Madrid with the team they are building currently, something like 20 wins in a row, amazing squad and defo not for Man United

As has been suggested I am not sure Levy could have wangled a sell-on clause in the deal, but I do hope he inserted a 'first refusal to buy' option.
Obviously right now I very much doubt we could afford to do so, but hey, if this Qatar rumour comes to fruition, he could be the first part of the new-look Spurs

This transfer rumour is a complete non-starter. I can't see Real selling somebody they paid a world record fee for, only a year and a half in. Especially with a one in two goalscoring record in his time there thus far, that's still only 25 years old and has proven his pedigree by scoring the winners in the Spanish Cup Final and the Champions League final.

Man Utd have spent what, £180m in 2014? With Welbeck at £16m the only notable sale that recouped any money? Where on earth are they going to find an extra £120m from and fit into FFP rules in a year in which they've missed out on Champions League football AND STILL need to overhaul their defence?

I'm a big fan of Eriksen, but Bale is the guy who stops anyone caring about that Messi or Ronaldo argument anymore
