OMT: Tottenham vs Emirates Marketing Project

Howard Webb steals the points from us again.

How Lescott and Ballotelli stayed on th pitch I don't know.

Crouch would have got on the end of that like he always did - it's unfortunate to say the least. We really do need a big man up front though. Well done JD for at least being up there.

Ledders - sheesh... but I think a lot of the blame lies with Benny (yes, trying to win the game by playing offensively)

I'm tired

defoe should have been a yard or 2 ahead of himself, he was too slow keeping up with bale and defender

I think that's a little harsh on Defoe, Bale is a very difficult player to keep up with.

If anything, Bale should probably have passed across the front of the defender when he was still outside the box, Defoe was in a better position then.

Still, had Webb done his job anything like sufficiently then we would have been away and clear by that point.

i agree but after him and savic sprinted past him he should have done his best to keep up and at least be level with savic

Frustrating result but I think we can take heart from the performance. We just needed something to fire us up and once Defoe got us back into it we looked the more likely to win. A draw would definitely have been a fair result, no way did we deserve to take the 3 points but thats life.

Find it difficult to blame Webb although if he turns round and doesnt say he would have sent Balotelli off having seen it properly then I will be absolutely disgusted. Such a dangerous thing to do and a big fine should come his way too. Of course the City fans as you would expect from the bitter northern mugs have started giving it large about being victimized and the pro spurs press will get Balotelli hung etc. Other comments of us not being in the game and could have lost 4-0 if werent for Savic playing show how arrogant and deluded the quick influx of money has made them.

Pathetic people to be honest and I expect nothing more given the life they probably have to lead........so hope Man Utd win the title. It would be amazing to see City implode and win nothing this season.

The 3 mistakes that cost us big.

1) Ledley King

Why exactly did he not bring Aguero down if he was going to comit a foul and wait until Balotelli is is the area to put in a challenge? i said sometime during thee first half in the match thread that Scott Parker should have brought down one of their players "20 yards earlier" but instead he waits until they're in a more attacking position to piut in a challenge, and Ledley does exactly the same thing. What kind of macaronic decsion making is that?

2) Benoit Assou Ekotto

He was dire today but what exactly is he thinking to play it long when the ball is going to go out of play. He's fully aware we have short arse Jermain Defoe up top who would never in a million years beat Lescott or Savic in a aerial challenge but he decides to do it anyway?. Watch Defoe and Luka talking when they're given a penalty. I'm almost certain Defoe is questioning what Ekotto was playing at.

3) Gareth Bale

Was good in the second half but he delayed and delayed when put through. All he needed to do is square to Defoe but he took a few touches to many and put in a bad ball.

We beat ourselves tbh. Such a shame really as we didn't deserve that but our decision making at times is scary bad.

Robbed of 3 pts against Stoke.
Robbed of 3 pts against Chelsea
Robbed of 1 pt against Manc City.

Video technology would have gained us 7 more points this season. The inconsistency and incompetence of 'top level' referees is simply not good enough.

That is a bit harsh. Bale is much faster than Defoe. Once could also argue it bale had passed the ball earlier Defoe would have got it

Its not over, tho it makes several more games must win and city need to drop but 4th will still be good, 3rd great, 2nd ill be ecstatic.

Don't want to talk about robbed etc, we did really well to get back in it and played well through the whole game imo. Ledley giving away that pen is the only thing that really let us down... forgetting the referee

I just feel gutted... No other word for it. They say Balotelli will probably get banned after today but that doesn't help us at all. He shouldn't have been on the pitch but Webb bottled the decision. Also Lescot's elbow went unpunished.
Can't really blame defoe, Bale isn't easy to keep up with and had he squared it earlier i think Defoe would've scored and we'd be looking at a different table!

But just gutted!
