Fergie: Retired, Moyes: Sacked, LVG/Giggs: The New Super Duo

Re: Fergie: Officially Retiring

A true genius of a manager.. The premier league is going to be the lesser for having lost him. Oh and please let Mourinho snub the blue scum. Pretty please! Who else could it realistically be?

Re: Fergie: Officially Retiring

I was struck by Mourinho's comment after Madrid knocked United out of the CL: "There are things that may be about to happen no one could imagine."

Re: Fergie: Officially Retiring

It does not feel right to me, United without Fergie? Shocking.

telling me im 31 and old red nose has been utd manager all my life....

To see someone else in the dugout is going to be baffling and not easy to understand.

Re: Fergie: Officially Retiring

Has to be so they can get Mourinho. I don't think it was the club telling Fergie to step down, more a mutual discussion about what they will do. I think Mourinho is the only man that could replace Fergie, and therefore if they wanted to get him they needed to act before Chelsea lock him in again.

Re: Fergie: Officially Retiring

I would imagine the replacement has known for a while.

Its a tricky one though........Mourinho is undoubtedly a great manager, very capable of following SAF but he does come with the whole sideshow and does he ever stay for longer than 3yrs? (SSN say next 48hrs....Real Cup final friday night? Doesn't quite fit in)

while Moyes is another straight talking jock who can motivate and get a team performing above their individual level. Get off on the right foot and he has the potential to be another long term appointment.

Wonder how much input SAF has had??.........Moyes for me

Would actually make sense to me to let him announce his own successor.

If he does badly, it was SAF who chose him, not the club. SAF would be forgiven because of who he is.
