** Tottenham Hotspur vs Fussball Club Basel 1893 OMT **

If Lennon, Gallas and Bale (actually, not Gallas it's probably an advantage) are injured for some time, will those of you who considered it arrogant to save important players for important matches reconsider?

Been saying repeated we should rest players for the EL

Need to hope we can somehow get a point on Sunday and then in the 2.5 weeks between now and the City game get Lennon fit

So, positives from this season:
- Vertonghen looks the dogs gonad*s.
- We did well to get fifth and EL QF in AVB's first season in charge
- Bale really showed his class, hopefully he'll return from his injury even better next season
- Lloris is a great goalkeeper
- Dembele has been a good player
- Sandro was brilliant until his injury
- Siggy finally scored
- We beat Manure at Old Trafford

...anything else?

We can still win out first trophy in years.

Serious question. What team would you have put out?

I'd play Lloris and either Dawson or Caulker; I wouldn't have started with Holtby, then I wouldn't have taken him off just as he was coming into the game - Dempsey was brick and we lost all of Holtby's energy and handed them the midfield.

They then proceeded to dismantle us for 25 minutes.

Pro-tip: if you want happy discussions don't go on the board of a football team that has just been humiliated by smaller opposition and had it's two best players injured thus ending the season.

We need a bit of perspective here. We came away with a draw after being 2 nil down. Yes, its a massive blow to lose 3 keys players to injury but I am confident they will bounce back. So let's be positive here.

Adebayor really needs to go and do something else now. Something nothing to do with competitive sport.

He scored, and worked hard. Those two things alone put him above Gallas, Verts, BAE, Naughton, Parker, Bale and Holtby in today's performance rankings.

Not the best time to criticise him.

Back in two weeks if he has Messi's recovery skills (the one with ujfalusi a couple of season ago)

And how are we supposed to cope if we got into the Champion's League?

If we are lucky Bale might "only" have only stretched the ligaments on the outside of the ankle.

Agreed. This is the ankle jarred when playing for Wales I think if we're lucky, three weeks, otherwise season-ender. My gut feeling is torn ankle ligaments , 3-4 months out.

BTW, I hope the players don't think like some of you lot! Fortune favors the brave. When the going gets tough,etc...COYS!

Frankly we didnt even deserve the draw.

AVB got it all wrong again. Bad tactics, poor selections, madness subs, lack of game plan.

Players look confused and weak. Second best to everything. No effort at all.
To be honest I've never read such a crock of brick in my life. What was AVB supposed to do? He picked the team 9/10 would have picked before the match and I agreed with every sub he made. It wasn't clueless he moved Verts to the left and them bale to counter their right winger who was fudging killing us. In the end it wasn't pretty but it got us a point when doing nothing and letting Ekotto drown would have been stupid. We have a massive game on Sunday and daws and others can't play every game. That team was good enough 9/10 but we came up against a slick organised team who didn't give us a sniff. We also had about 4 or 5 have individual nightmares at the same time and 3 injuries. What the fudge has that to do with AVB? fudge all you're talking absolute gonad*s and I'm more tinkled off with our pathetic brainless fans that give fudge all support than I am any player tonight

Obviously it looks horrific but an actual doctor couldn't diagnose based on just a picture/video. Messi did something similar this season and was back within 8 days.

I'm not saying either way what it is, could very well be a season ending injury but all the people declaring their diagnoses are jumping the gun just a tad.

What is football anyway? It's just a bunch of men running around the pitch kicking a ball. It means nothing at all.

Try to think of the positives.

Think of all the extra things you can do with your time now.

The death of a season can bring life to other things. Take up gardening. Learn a new hobby. Take this blow and use it to good effect.

The other choice is just to become sad and full of pain.

I agree about Holtby. We lost all shape. I would have gone with Friedel and Dawson or Caulker. The thing is that AVB wants to win this thing so he wouldn't take Bale off, especially given his last-minuter heroics. And we have seen several sides pay the price for fielding weaker sides and leaving better players on the bench for later on. What a brick night.
