Royal Mail will issue a stamp commemorating the 100th Birth Anniversary of legendary Liverpool manager Bill Shankly on 16th April 2013.

This will be one of a set of 10 stamps issued in a set dedicated to Great Britons with other stamps featuring:

Norman Parkinson
Vivien Leigh
Peter Cushing
David Lloyd George
Elizabeth David
John Archer
Benjamin Britten
Mary Leakey
Richard Dimbleby

The Bill Shankly stamp (1st class, currently 60p but may increase if the tariffs rise) can be bought as a single stamp, a strip of 5 vertical stamps or as part of the set of 10 Great Britons.

How will Bindipper fans be able to afford to buy one of these stamps? Blatantly unfair and putting places that sell stamps at risk of robbery!

The Royal Mail has issued a new series of stamps commemorating the all-time greatest 11 of British football heroes. Spurs had two players named to the series - Jimmy Greaves and Dave MacKay.

Also in the group were Kevin Keegan, Denis Law, Bobby Moore, Bryan Robson(!), Bobby Charlton, John Charles, Gordon Banks, George Best and John Barnes.

Before you all rush out to your local Post Offices, the Miniature Sheet will only be available from 9th May 2013.

The 11 stamps are not available separately and have to be bought as a complete set (currently GBP 6.60 but may well increase with the next tariff change).

There is also a booklet of six stamps featuring the George Best & Bobby Moore stamps with four definitives and a Prestige Stamp Book with unique combinations.
