This game isn't going to be as easy as people think. They've come up 2 divisions in as many years and show no sign of slowing down. If were not up for it, it will be a tough game.

Games against lower opposition are often treacherous at this stage of the competition as the players are never as motivated as the lower league team.
 
Whatever the underlying reasons were for the Watford performance have hopefully been sorted and stamped out, because it was a bit of a shambles and you only get away with that kind of performance once imo
 
i know you are supposed to take it one game at a time..but i am already focused on the NLD. with the form we are in and almost a full strength squad to choose from, this could be the year that arse gets a spanking at their brickhole & i have been waiting for a very, very long time for that to happen.. i worry about any injuries or a cup upset that might throw us off our game.

I dont think we will ever spank the goons just as they will never spank us. cant see it happening. They always raise their game for us no matter how bad they have been. At WHL this year they were awful the games before but for our game they played quite well.

I hope I am wrong of course, and I would love us to spank them, but I think winning alone will be bloody hard, let alone spanking them.

That's true. Even when they were great and we were brick, they never smashed us. Think 3-0 is the biggest defeat we've suffered against them in the premier league. Think a lot depends on if they bounce back against Sunderland. If they lose that game, then you will see their players and fans start to worry that they will collapse again in the second half of the season.

Smith: Stevenage can stun Spurs

Gary Smith hopes the FA Cup gods will smile on Stevenage when Tottenham visit the Lamex Stadium in the fifth round on Sunday.

This is the furthest the Hertfordshire club have gone in the competition in their history, but Boro boss Smith believes that - with a little bit of luck - his League One play-off challengers are capable of upsetting the eight-time winners of the trophy in a one-off game.

"We have some very good players here. You don't get to this stage of the season, in this sort of position, without quality individuals," former Arsenal trainee and scout Smith told the assembled media on Thursday.

"We are going to need some fortune, but we are capable of causing an upset at home. I do believe that. A victory would be unbelievable.

"I would hope that in a one-off game we will have every chance of really pushing Tottenham to their limits. And who knows? The magic of the Cup sometimes sprinkles a little bit of that pixie dust on the underdogs and hopefully it will be us on this occasion."

Harry Redknapp expects to start a strong team in the FA Cup fifth round tie at Stevenage on Sunday.

The manager told journalists at his weekly press conference that he wants to give new signing Ryan Nelsen a chance to play, but that Rafa Van der Vaart and William Gallas remain sidelined.

'I've got one or two I'd like to play. Ryan Nelsen has come in, the lads have said that he's trained great this week. I've always been a big fan of his, I think he's a great competitor," said Harry.

"It'll be a very strong team. Rafa's still injured, we'll have to see how he is next week (for the Arsenal match. William is a week or two away, Younes will train today and we'll see how he is, he's had problems with his knee. Unfortunately, Tom Huddlestone is out for the season and we wish him well."
 
Stevenage midfielder Michael Bostwick is relishing pitting his wits against Tottenham's stars this weekend in the FA Cup.

The League One outfit play host to highly-flying Spurs at Broadhall Way in the fifth round aiming to cause one of the shocks of the competition.

Stevenage dumped out Saudi Sportswashing Machine in the third round last season and Bostwick is hoping take a second Premier League scalp in the shape of Harry Redknapp's side.

"It is going to be a tough game against Spurs as they are a great side with great players, but it's the FA Cup and anything can happen in the FA Cup," Bostwick told Sky Sports.

"Obviously last year we knocked out Saudi Sportswashing Machine and we took the game seriously and we will have the same mentality and approach against Spurs.

"These are the type of games you want to play in and test yourself against players like [Gareth] Bale and [Luka] Modric and I know everyone in the squad is up for the game."

Atmosphere

Bostwick has warned Spurs they will face an intimidating atmosphere when they come to Broadhall Way and he hopes the club's fans can inspire them to a famous FA Cup giant-killing.

"It would be a shock if we won, but you never know what can happen," added Bostwick.

"Hopefully Spurs will have a bit of an off day and we all play to our maximum and then we could get the victory.

"Broadhall Way is quite an intimidating ground as the crowd are right on top of you and it will be a great atmosphere on Sunday as the fans have been great all season for us at home."

At least 3-0 to Spurs,cant see them getting a goal to be honest,its just a case of how many we want to try for. Its about time we as supporters changed our mindset of a few years ago when we wer'nt sure as supporters Spurs could beat anyone,especially away from home..we now have to be brushing teams like Stevenage aside,this is the new Spurs, and we are aiming much much higher.Onwards and upwards.
