OT: What next for Harry?

DHSF, you're an intelligent guy. You must know what I mean. If Jamie is on TV around the time all this speculation is happening, you don't think that he wouldn't realise he would be asked about the England situation? And you don't think he would promote his dad for the job if his dad didn't want it?

I know what you mean but maybe Jamie wanted him to get the job doesnt mean Harry was coaching him to say it - as push n Run said.

There are pundits around promoting other managers in getting jobs doesnt mean those managers coached those pundits.

I just think there is so much made out of this when the other factors for that bad run of results (not performances) are ignored.

To be honest it's a big ask to keep them up and I think they've hired him just too late to probably do it. I think Norwich, Reading and Southampton are the other serious relegation candidates, and Wigan will be there too as always. They're already 10pts adrift of Norwich.

On paper QPR have some decent, but fading, players. In reality they are bottom for a reason and to turn that around and save them from relegation is a far tougher job than even the one where he saved us from the drop.

Ji Sung Park, De Silva, SWP, Cisse, Cesar, Faurlein, Taraabt, no, it's not a big ask for him, he can turn it around, he'll get the dressing room onside and the rest should be easy for a man of his, er, mercurial talents. What he's doing there is classic 'Arry, dumbing down expectations so as he won't look like a failure if it doesn't happen but will look like a magician if he keeps them up. He is The Master of media manipulation. We will get to enjoy it at a distance without having to be sucked into the maelstrom of it...

clown shoe haha

I said it with certainty - you just raised the question haha

Chaps...many have run it through the processor...just like Rio...just like Crouchie...the world of old muckers and ex-players is his oyster!!!

Le Saux, Kevin Phillips, Crouch, Pahars, J. Redknapp, Delap, Lundekvam, Kenwyne Jones, Beattie were all in the Southampton team he relegated.

I am not sure I have seen a public figure, let alone a football manager, who doesn't speak brick on a regular basis. They speak brick because most public people no longer will tell the truth because the truth is often not what people want to hear and it usually damages the person telling the truth. Sad state of affairs, but that is a wider issue than just one football manager.

I don't care what a manager says publically. What AVB said after the Arsenal match was more outrageous than anything I've ever heard pass Redknapp's lips, but I understand why AVB said it and couldn't care less that he said it because I don't believe for one moment he believes it.

:ross:
'Arry never had the courage to speak up after heavy defeats, and never had the courage to attract the attention from his team.

He has more than enough there to get them out of trouble, but as we will have noticed he is already doing damage control and making sure that IF they go down, it has zero to do with him, whereas if they stay up, I guarantee it will be solely because of him. He's predictable isn't he?!

I think they're too far behind in the Premiership already. It's not an easy task. They have 4pts from 12 matches for a reason.

As I said I have no problem with what AVB said, but it was complete flimflam trying to claim that we were the better side during the match.

I know YOU know that wasn't his intention. In fact, he achieved his intent because unlike some out there, he is NOT afraid to step up and protect his team.

Trust me, if there was no chance, if there was a less than 50% chance, he wouldn't take the job...

Well Harry isn't clever, and he has less than 50% chance in my opinion. QPR should have got him four games ago and then it would have been more likely. 4pts from 13 games. He has just over half a season to save them. They are now more reliant on others around them fudging up, than themselves getting the results.

There's a very good chance, mostly due to the brickness of 5 or 6 other teams. 30 points will give you a great chance to stay up.

18th place? 30pts? No chance I'd say. Will be between 35pts to 38pts. Regardless he needs to be aiming for 40pts and that means he has 25 games to get 36pts. Brings to mind a famous scene from Jaws where Quint works out that Hooper intends to go into the shark cage at some point, "Fairwell and adieu to you fair Spanish ladies..."
