New Stadium and Training Ground - Pg 104 Northumberland Park master plan

Re: New stadium and training ground thread - Pg 74 Haringey Council plans 2025

One issue that ought to be raised up front is pricing. Many people think safe standing would be a return to cheap tickets. It would not. I assume the tickets would be less but the club would want to raise at least as much money from the same space. If two people occupy the space of a seat then half price would be revenue neutral, but I think the number would be more 1.5 standing/seat so price drop of a third is the maximum to be expected. And some bright spark in the finance office might observe that there is an extra demand for the standing area and decide that is a reason to charge a premium price for standing or at least justify the same price as for seats. Then the club would gain revenue and it might get more support.

tbh id quite happily pay the same i am now if it was safe standing and i assume there wouldn't be much of a difference in price should it ever come to fruition

Pricing would clearly be a matter for each club, though the potential is there for them to price standing at a discount to seats and still generate more revenue. As jts1882 says, however, it may not be a huge discount.

For anyone not quite sure what a safe standing area fitted with rail seats might look like, this video may be of interest:

Please share freely and also e-mail your MP to ask them to support EDM 573, which calls on the government to allow a few small-scale trials of safe standing. You can do so quickly and simply via this tool from the FSF.

I assume from the content of your post that you're campaigning for safe standing?

If so, can you elaborate on what you're doing to keep the scousers quiet? From an outsider's point of view, it seems to be them that are the noisiest voice against standing.

I think that many match-going fans in Liverpool are actually quite open-minded about safe standing, as this poll conducted on one of their forums over the last few days shows: Red and White Kop poll

Over 89% in favour of there at least being some trials of safe standing.

Fantastic news. Between that and the recent Hillsborough findings I'd expect you to have a much better case than a few years ago.

I doub't you'll find many dissenting voices on this forum, and if you want to write an article-style post with a poll I can publish it to the front page.

Will try to do that tomorrow. By the way, which part of WHL is currently your de facto 'standing area'? I presume that you do have one?

PS: Re the questions about politicians, the answer is yes. Don Foster MP was the main champion of the cause over the last 18 months and more recently Roger Godsiff MP has picked up the baton and tabled an Early Day Motion (EDM 573) calling on the government to permit a few small-scale pilots of safe standing. An EDM is like a petition for MPs, so please urge your MP to sign it by using this quick and simple tool from the FSF.

Park Lane end, behind the goal, same end away fans go, but it spreads round the corner a bit into the East lower (or Shelf Side) for a block or two

I'd want a discount for that restricted view when sitting down.

Agree. At gigs tickets are usually the same for standing and seating, or sometimes actually more for standing as they are considered the premium option.

Got a reply from Tottenham..Bit disappointed that they seem not willing to give an opinion on what they will do. I guess the best thing for anyone wanting a website such as the one set up by American College team Washington Huskies I guess should notify those at Tottenham to make your feelings known.

Email is on the official site under contact us.. stadium build and customer care.

At the 02. standing is always alot cheaper At least 30% cheaper. Mainly because if you don't get there early enough, your view generally sucks.
