***TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs Leeds OMT***

Frustrating

- Can't get away from the poor ref decisions, 100% red for them, not even yellow. Every dive/fall for them gets called.
- RDZ got it wrong today with lineup and some of subs
- I'd actually say the defense did ok for the amount of physicality and aerial stuff (we aren't supposed to be good there)

To the players
- Solanke/Marmoush are us carrying players at this point
- Gray in midfield didn't work (he didn't even react to the open goal opportunity)
- Kudus looked knackered by 65 minutes
- Deki struggled
- LWB again should have had an assist in 10 minutes.

Ugly game, Leeds made it that way, at moments I thought we rode out their high energy/physical brick, then would have a bit of control but couldn't really get our game going (too many players not having a great game)

Highlights there is still work to do .. and we need a 9 in January

I felt we didn't try to get the ball out wide quick enough today. Too many touches in midfield. When Fernandes was in charge we moved the ball quickly from defence to midfield but then the options in front offered poor movement. I also think Porro off weird options to Kudus. I would have kept Kudus wider and Porro underlap.

Also, I thought VDV was awful today. He kept holding on to the ball line Romero used to, and then lose it

Let’s not kid ourselves, guys—it’s been the same story in football for years: you need strikers—real ones—and unfortunately, we don’t have any. On top of that, we don’t have any genuine wingers, and we’ve got central defenders who won’t even put their heads in for aerial duels (looking at you, VdV).

As for Porro, I’ve always said it: defensively, he’s not a defender. Sure, he puts in crosses and shows some grit, but honestly, ever since he joined us, I’ve never thought he was any good. In my book, him, Kudus, and VdV are all just smoke and mirrors.

I might get roasted for saying this, but even Kulusevski—I find him just average. Yeah, in his first two seasons he’d occasionally smash some screamers in with his left foot, but to call him a key player? There’s still a long way to go.
Seriously, so many balls should be played forward sooner—but no, instead we take an extra touch, pass it backward, and so on... For GHod’s sake, take someone on! Dribble! An 18-year-old kid managed to do it in just 10 minutes last week—do you realize how pathetic that is?

We’re pinning our hopes on an 18-year-old kid to rescue us from everyone else’s mediocrity...
The truth is, we’ve got a squad built for mid-table; as for the best players, we either sell them, or they just want to leave.

The worse part of that is the Leeds players stamps the wrong foot, it's the foot no where near the ball.

And (trying to find a fudging excuse for these incompetent fudges) the ref had given a yellow, VAR could at least say "well, ref saw it, thought yellow was enough". If this isn't a red and a clear case of "clear and obvious error", wtf really is. Hope RDZ makes noise.

brick, didn't realise this was the graveyard slot kick-off

Did Fernandes being sacrificed out of the double pivot screw us again?

No, he was in pivot.

Weird choices (Gray in midfield), awful red that didn't get called that took out Tel, odd subs (giving Deki long run, waiting too long to sub Kudus for LWB) and Leeds playing a high energy, high physicality game cost us.

If you put Solanke on the pitch of course we are going to look worse. He's just a body, he offers nothing offensively.
Exactly, if we have to bring on a player like Solanke, in the situation we did today because of the injury, the least I would expect from him was to foul and fight the Leeds back line. Games like this, against a team like Leeds (away from home) I want us to be able to bring on a big man striker who's going to barge and kick Leeds defence back (get a fudging yellow card) rough them up. It doesn't matter if he doesn't create chances for himself, but understand the game as it's happening on the pitch, be nuisance. The rest of the team can then find the gaps.

I actually thought the midfield and defence fought well today, it wasn't a game where we could dominate possession, because Leeds didn't play a low block, they came to fight, and I thought that by our usual sexy standards, we competed ok. But up front we were weak.

You have to fight up front and midfield for the right to play, midfield was ok (not great) but upfront we have nothing at the moment. No guile, no pace or no fighting strength. A striker with one or more of those skills will make the difference. The system is taking shape, we are just really badly missing an important piece upfront.

At least RDZ is now making us hard to beat and have passion. Leeds had to fight to win that game, in the past we would have completely collapsed and rolled over. So not everything is bad, but we need to take the good things and find answers for bigger issues in the squad.

It's a game and performance I wouldn't ruin my weekend over, but move on to the next game.

Weird marking mate

- VDV was poor, even RDZ mentioned it
- Gray was poor, missed an open opportunity, loss concentration quite a bit
- Kulu was the worse of the subs, LWB created an opp to get the draw, Bentancur was ok (not a 3)

tinkle poor 2nd half.
Most of the players were off it today, should never have changed the Tonali/ Fernandes combo which has been working so well.
How Bogle wasn't sent off i will never know.. maybe the 15 views weren't enough.

Thing is, don't get how PMGOL just does get it

You watch that, and all it does is bring the game into disrepute .. it looks like corruption
