Really refreshing to read this. I’m sure there is a lot of respect amongst MPs of different political hues but we so rarely hear about it.

Charges of misconduct in public office should be brought against Hanc ock and his lying, useless crony. No doubt it’ll all be brushed under the carpet.

It's a load of bollox. It was airbourne it was inevitable that every single person in the country would get it.
You look at the expected death rate for every country on earth and they were pretty similar compared to their demographics.

Which has nothing to do with the constant lying to the public, dreadful pandemic preparations, profiteering, and incredibly poor decision making, which this inquiry continues to highlight.

If Britain has the fastest growing economy of any major nation at the same time as most of Europe is floundering and France is literally on fire……why would Labour also be floating rejoining the EU?

Because it would allow us unfettered access to the largest single market in the world, and because the vast majority of economists conclude that being outside it costs us hundreds of millions each year? Also, because it would provide additional national security at a time when the world faces unprecedented levels of threat, and while our once staunchest ally seems to be completely unreliable?

Don’t know. Just speculating.

Doesn’t pass the smell test.

What does it matter if you don’t benefit directly from that economic activity and are actually at greater risk of redundancy from exposure to a huge pool of cheap workers.

Which is exactly why we left.

When this (employment) position is reversed and the EU offers the U.K. net employment opportunities, they will not invite us to join on acceptable terms.

So it’s checkmate.

We can only rejoin based on a referendum or election that’s an effective referendum on rejoining. Giving Britain zero leverage in negotiations to rejoin.

You do understand that the eu is fudged? France are going to need a bailout from the ecb.
Now the eu previously has given out bailouts but enforced austerity measures. France can't do anything but refuse them.
So either the eu bends the rules or refuses. Either way that is the eu fudged.
The other thing france could do is pull out of the euro. Which create other huge problems.

I was refering to the part you were quoting. Not the whole handling of the pandemic. But you move the goalposts iif you want.

Of the G7...but its going to slow down soon. We all know that. What we don't know is how hard it will hit due to Europe being increasingly isolated from the countries within it. It's incredible how isolated each country is becoming, as years of fear and hate peddling slowly start to deliver a self-fulfilling prophecy

That’s not really a great arguement for rejoining though is it?

We now live entirely in a world where any idiot can make an outrageous statement, and the burden of proof lies on the victim/recipients of that statement to disprove it. Add to this the increased pace of 'information', the calibration of people to keep 'moving' briskly and only take notice of 'highlights' (this was the utter disgrace of twitter and its 144 character model) and fuse it with the fear and desperation mentioned above, and I find myself wondering how we can escape this self-created trap.

To that, I think it is vital that wherever possible, we support local organic initiatives. Support your local coffee shop or boozer. Get a couple of mates together once a week or so and spend some time talking about whatever, but face-to-face over a coffee or a pint. Make that time. Read books, real ones. Listen to an entire album sometimes, not just a snippet. Wherever possible, engage in a different cultural element than your own, whether that be food, art, whatever. Be active, walk, run, cycle, play footy, whatever, just stretch your body and mind. If you feel the urge to write something, or draw, or create a piece of music, do it, and do it proudly without fearing judgement or ridicule, just do it. Delete your X account if you haven't already. And most of all, as much as life tries to throw fear bombs into your everyday life, reject them. Choose finding one positive thing a day (if not more), but start with one. I mean, I think it's a practical way through?
p.s. I think it is also safe to again suggest watching Tottenham Hotspur!!!!!!
