It won’t happen but I’d take no pleasure from being awarded the league now. Ending a 65 year wait for a title like this when there is no sporting achievement behind it would be hollow in the extreme.

That said, he does have a point.
 
Part of my love for football died when we won ef all with Poch, such good times and a belief we could compete at the top table.
A man who 'got' what we were about and had us beating Arsenal, Chelsea, Utd and Emirates Marketing Project...not so much Liverpool.
Been a steady decline since.
 
As much as I agree with Poch on this one it would set a precedent for City’s charges. That would give them lot more titles so let’s leave it as is.

Is strange that English football just refuses to follow the same pattern as other countries with these things. Italy would have no problem stripping titles for this. If I were conspiratorial I’d think the Prem officials know it’s corrupt but don’t want to tarnish the league’s reputation as it’s so profitable

Worth remembering we did the exact same thing in the late 80’s/early 90’s and the only reason we got off with a hand slap was due to the new owner being the one that pointed it out. So take away our FA Cup win in 1991 as well.

This is in no way a defence of the club because I have often highlighted the channel island loans on here, but I think there is a difference to what happened under Scholar and then a new regime cleaning up their act, to what say Chelsea and City did and continue to do by circumnavigating the rules still. If we lost the FA Cup because of what we did so be it, thats how it goes

I don't want the league win BTW and like @DeanoAustin wish it had not been mentioned

They could strip Chelsea and City of the official titles and award no winners. That's what the Tour de France did with Lance Armstrong, although part of the reasoning there was probably that they were all at it.

At the end of the season, with the title decided, the clubs in the minor places often play weaker or experimental sides as finishing 2-4th makes no real difference, so second place may not be the club who deserves the vacated title. And adding a trophy to the cabinet without celebrating the win seems rather lame.

City yes. But what Chelsea & City did are not that similar. Even with the illegal payments on the books they would have complied with FFP as well.
