Well, boys, we got three forwards out, we got more holes in us than a horse trader's mule, the youth's gone and we're leaking players and if we was flying any lower why we'd need sleigh bells on this thing.
I don't really see it as much of a gamble that he'd be a marked improvement or that 65m as a fee is much of a concern. If we were buying a 'better' CF it would be for much more than 65m

a 1 in 5 striker who has 1 season out of 7 in the PL where he made double figures? who's 2nd best ever PL return is 8 goals?

Our forwards don’t put up brilliant numbers themselves.

Richy is a 1 goal in every 3.6 games striker in the PL.
Solanke is 1 in 4.3
We should be looking to upgrade without doubt (not least because they both miss too many games), but honestly some of the names being mentioned and the way our 2 are discussed in comparison seems very strange.

I agree with you. It’s probably just a realistic acceptance of where we actually are. As others have said, finishing 17th in two consecutive seasons will inevitably cause some short-term damage to our reputation.

Ah right, yea my post wasn’t super clear I guess. I was saying that some of the names being mentioned to come in and wanted by fans are no better than what we’ve got.
I think it was Raziel mentioning someone wanted a 1 in 5 striker and I was sharing those stats of Richy and Solanke to show their stats were better.

Players didn’t sign to play at old Trafford or for the manager (I mean he was sacked not long after)
And their recent history is not great
They did however sign for massive wages

In that case definetly money but we have to also admit that Manchester United simply have a higher status than we do. That status doesn't hurt when they are throwing money at the problems they have. It at the very least looks ambitious.

Neither have been especially successful for them, but City castoffs can be positives for us. We aren't shopping in the same markets.
