Mateus Fernandes Official

The thing is, whether thats MK Dons in a friendly or City at home, that still would have went in.

It’s about how much space he would have, where the opponent have defenders potentially blocking, and the pressure of taking that chance on in a big match. But technically it was top tier, so I agree it would very likely still have been a goal. Incredible effort especially as the ball drops from such a height.

There was talk of Twitter last night that Fernandes had suffered an ACL injury. Thankfully Szyexcl posted to say that it’s not true. That would be a nightmare were it to happen. Hope he’s named in the squad today to dispel any remaining doubts.

The official word is that he'll be taking a breather for this one as he has been pushing hard in pre-season thus far.

On a related note, the absolute tossers who started posting injury news and what not can do one!
