if we are going traditional bargain hunting from the relegated clubs then:

bowen for richy
summerville for added experience (odobert will miss half the season)
matteus fernandez or joao gomez for palhinha (if he doesnt stay)
maxime esteve for dragusin/ VDV (if he either leaves)

because of 8 teams going to europe its going to be difficult to get any star players there. if we do, lange and vinai better start early and do their homework to prevent another eze and mgw situation.

chelsea has alonso so clean slate for all players too

so logically a better target would be brentford players:
thiago for richy
nathan collins for dragusin/vdv
damsgaard who can play central and right mid (covers kulu and maddison and kudus)

if there was one CM i would add from abroad it would be AM/forward de ketelaere who is versatile and left footed.

i'm sure there are better out there but i am not confident about our spending ability and attractiveness to players.

NOT a definitive list but an exercise to point out that an affordable frontlilne of bowen summerville thiago and damsagaard should be fairly easily attainable. IF management has a clue and owners understand that we need a lot of investments to get back to Europe.

Then and only then may I start to believe anything changes. If they are still here start of season. The new season will not end well.

If Robertson comes. That will be a club move as we wanted him in Jan. I hope RDZ knocks that on the head. If he comes then either he has been forced to have him which doesnt bode well or he agrees with it. Either way would show it was another Gallagher, we got in too late for Ange and bought him as he was there

No more “potential” signings for me. We have a massive backlog already…Gray, Bergvall, Tel, Odobert, Moore, Lankshear, Vuskovic, Phillips, Takai, Yang, Devine, Scarlett and Donley.

Sure I’m missing some too.

What we need are a few starters who can hit the ground running. Difference makers. Players who raise the bar.

CF and a passing CM are my biggest areas of need.

No it’s just what we all know. The only troubling thing is that he bigged up Muani … but possibly with confidence he could be a player. He was very handy for PSG and Juventus. But why take the risk.
 
I am very concerned by the fact that we are seriously linked to Robertson who has just left Liverpool. He spent most of the season on the bench, so why the heck are we interested in him? He is simply not good enough for us.

That’s why we cannot get it right on the pitch. We buy average players who turn up when they like. We need proven top class players where our younger players can get a first hand look at what it takes. Get some of those exceptional players in and pepper the team and bench with youngsters who will bleed for the club.

£30m for Richarlison? No chance, he has just a year left on his contract.

I doubt Wharton will come to us with both Manchester sides sniffing around.

Robertson? Based on last season is he better than Davies???

I do not know enough about Kroupi and Fernandez to comment.

Whoever manager is, they should have been slowly bedded in. The fact we were relying on them so often is a disgrace. What other team has teenagers in the middle or at the back when a team is freefalling/.
